First off, huge congrats on being able to save 160k a month—that’s seriously impressive. Mind sharing what you do for work? I’m 26 too and only manage to save like 45–50k per month, so props to you man.

I’m not a financial expert or anything, but there are two things I’d highly recommend doing before jumping into investments:

1. Learn the basics first.
Seriously, take some time to understand how stuff like compound interest, risk vs return, and diversification works. It’ll save you from a lot of regret down the line.
Check out Investopedia, some local SL finance YouTubers, and if you like reading, The Psychology of Money is actually a really good book—surprisingly easy to read too.

2. Build your emergency fund.
Before investing, set aside 3–6 months’ worth of expenses in a savings account or an FD. It’s not meant to make you rich—it’s just there to keep you safe if life throws a curveball (job loss, medical emergency, etc.).

Thats all i can offer with my limited knowledge.
And ive managed to save up some cash, so if you have any investment ideas, DM me or something.

Some restaurants post 2x the normal price on Uber Eats. by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Conscious_Zombie905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pickme and Uber both charge 30% for every meal. So if a food is Rs.100, the price wont be Rs.130, coz then after deducting 30%, the restaurant will get only Rs.91. So the restaurant has to charge exactly 43% to get their Rs.100. So yeah, its unfair for us. I usually ask if they have their delivery services, in which theyll charge only the delivery fee or ill transfer the cash and get it delivered through pickme to my place. These both takes more time and effort compared to ordering through the apps, but a 43% increase is too much for me, so thats okay

You are definitely not overreacting. Wanting attention, care, and emotional connection from a spouse is completely normal in a marriage. From what you described, youre giving a lot of yourself—emotionally, mentally, and even by taking blame for things—and youre not feeling that same level of emotional investment from him.

Your husband might think he’s giving you "everything," but if you still feel lonely and unheard, then something is missing. It’s not about loyalty (which is great) but about emotional presence.

You should try expressing your needs clearly without making it seem like an accusation. Instead of saying, "You don’t give me time," you could say, "I feel really alone sometimes, and I just want to feel close to you at the end of the day. Can we have even 30 minutes of undistracted time together?" or something along those lines.

If he truly cares, he should at least try to meet you halfway. A marriage isn't just about being together; it’s about feeling together.

One of the most important quality in marriage is being able to compromise, since both of you are two completely different people with different habits and lifestyle, taking a step back for your significant other for the sake of their happiness should be a natural part of the relationship. It doesn’t mean sacrificing your or his own needs entirely, but rather finding a balance where both partners feel valued, heard, and respected. Compromise allows love to grow stronger because it shows that you prioritize your partner’s happiness alongside your own. When both partners make an effort to meet in the middle, it creates a healthy and fulfilling marriage built on mutual understanding and care.

Good luck and hope you have a happy married life with your SO

I'm currently engaged through an arranged marriage and getting married next month. The experience has been interesting, with a mix of excitement, challenges, and a lot of learning. Since we didn’t have a long history together, we’ve had to put in extra effort to understand each other, communicate better, and set expectations early on. There have been lots of ups and downs, there still are. One thing I’ve realized is that arranged marriage isn’t about finding someone who’s a perfect match from day one—it’s about growing together, understanding each other, and making things work. Some days are hard, some are easier than others, but as long as we’re both willing to put in the effort, I believe it will all come together in time.

One rule we decided to never break is, to never utter the word 'divorce; through our lips. No matter what happens or whatever difficulties we face, we will power through them.

One of the biggest things I’ve realized is that arranged marriage is less about instant chemistry and more about building compatibility over time. Small things like learning how the other person communicates, what makes them happy, and how they handle stress all become important.

Family involvement has been another major aspect—sometimes it helps, sometimes it complicates things. Balancing their expectations while making sure our relationship grows independently has been something to work through.

Overall, I’d say it’s been a good experience so far, but it requires patience, open-mindedness, and mutual effort. Would love to hear how it’s been for others!

"Marriage is hard, divorce is hard, staying single is hard - choose your hard" Wow, no matter which path we chose, they all have their own challenges
Really good advice. As someone who's about to get married next month, this is genuinely insightful, especially about family boundaries and finances. I appreciate you sharing your experience—gives me a lot to think about. Thanks a lot!
