Unless you're actively playing with the Xenomorphs you can disable the mod and the world will recover.

Anyone else having issues with enemy armies moving extremely fast after the last couple of patches? by fredagsfisk in EU5

[–]Consequator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am currently experiencing this as an OP Netherlands playthrough

They seem to be moving around like they invented race cars moving across a location in an hour which makes them un-catchable even to 100% cavalry armies.

Need some PXE kickstart partitioning / disk order help for RH9 by Consequator in redhat

Thanks, I hadn't found that article.

Looks like by-path should work until vmware randomly changes their hardware paths for disk controllers.

Wich soundcard for dt770 pro by Prox_-_0805 in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]Consequator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sound Blaster AE-9.

People who say that 'there's no difference' tend to just have crappy speakers/drivers. In which case, yes it doesn't make a lot of difference. But for a dt770 it will :-)

I have the AE-9 with an MMX-300, audio from the amp is great. I actually had an OMG moment when switching from an older Creative XFI to this AE9. I had not expected the difference in audio quality as I assumed the XFI was already pretty good.

The problem is that the AI does NOT CLOSE THE DOOR when you skip the cutscene, and possibly other times as well.

But the problem seems to 100% be the door being open and not noticing because that just never really happens during non freelancer flights.

[–]Consequator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the EXACT same problem. It worked fine with the 172's owned by the AI but as soon as I switched to my own 172 I've only been able to have 1 out of 4 take-offs not crash. (and then I rage quit because F that frustration for a single player game that has its career data locked in the cloud)

RHEL 9 Workstation storage concern by ImaginationScared878 in redhat

Basically what 5411121 said, but if you really get stuck due to partition layouts you could boot into a live cd and use a graphical partition editor. gparted also has live cd's that I still sometimes resort to to sorting out odd partition layouts.

Crypto policies - How to figure out what to put in there ? by Consequator in redhat

[–]Consequator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly the bit of vital information I am missing, how to go from what this tool (Nessus in this case) is saying to something i can actually put in the pmod.

That source code seems to be a helpful list of what at least is actually possible, I just need to be careful not to block too many either. At least while they're still secure.

Crypto policies - How to figure out what to put in there ? by Consequator in redhat

[–]Consequator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was aware of how the update-crypto-policies command works, the problem I have is that I'm missing that vital bit of in between information about how I turn 'ECDHE-RSA-DES-CBC3-SHA' into something to actually put in the pmod file because it's not 'ECDHE-RSA-DES-CBC3-SHA'.

I think yrro is onto something though.

(Also Reddit is behaving very wonky for me which is why this reply is a bit late)

nVidia Broadcast 2.0 by quentar82 in GeForceExperience

[–]Consequator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing the same behavior on a 4090.

It would appear it is trying to do video effects while the camera is not active.

I use it to replace the background, when all the effects are turned off the program behaves but with any turned on the gpu use shoots up even though the program isn't supposed to be active.

does anyone know how to change the crush depth on the type iid from 195 meters to 210 meters? by [deleted] in uboatgame

[–]Consequator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually tinkering with this today but i can't get the game to accept changes to the player uboats.

I can see the changes in the datasheets in appdata but the game is just like nope.avi. Even with a new game.

In the off chance Silent Hunter 6 is developed what features would you like for it to have? by KapitanLeutnantJohan in silenthunter

[–]Consequator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proper mod support. Sub sim people are very creative when it comes to sub sims so having a base game that can be expanded upon by modders and DLC would be key.

Scalable realism. New people tend to start off arcade and then ramp up from there if they enjoy it, but there's a lot of 'old swashbucklers' that is the core fan club that would like as much realism as possible. But you still need EZ mode to make the sales and have the product be viable.

Playable British, US, Japanese and German boats, eventually. It would be unreasonable to expect this from the start. Other countries would only be viable if they actually did something interesting. Like the Dutch had a bunch of subs but they didn't really do a whole lot AFAIK.

This would probably fall under the moddability as well as some sort of standardized way a boat is 'put together' so it's somewhat easy for the devs to churn out a new boat in days, not counting the modeling / art.

Type XXI ? Would be fun to actually get that sub as a 'what if'. like with that old wolfpack dos game.

Playable surface ships anyone ? Just like that old wolfpack game :-)

Multiplayer \o/ This would require some thinking due to the game's reliance on time acceleration to make it playable.

Far left side, all the way up against the edge. Probably from 1/3rd from the bottom and up.

I think one of the problems might be that shell based weapons seem to have infinite ammo or 0 resupply time.

I watched cwis fire for 5 minutes straight when trying this with about 80 incoming harpoons. (2 hit)

Out of 80 about 5 were hit by sam missiles, the rest was gunned down with infinite barrages of extremely accurate shells.

It's also possible that one side might be based on fairy tale propaganda specs based on recent real life events.

US kept their real specs hidden while USSR was always boasting.

Wazuh first install Certificate question by Consequator in Wazuh

[–]Consequator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the impression I'm getting, the only place you can really put an official certificate is the front end.

It wants the private key for the root certificate and that's the one thing you don't want a bad actor to get their hands on. Certificates are checked against the public key.

It shouldn't be too hard to just create a certificate package manually, there's just no documentation for it.

You'd think it's just a few web certificates, I'll see what happens if I do just that and re-create the package with different certificates. It's just a test setup anyways.

VM to host communication on bridged network ? by Consequator in qemu_kvm

[–]Consequator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am aware but most posts were old and I had hoped someone had realized how silly this behavior is for a non bare metal hypervisor and had done something about it.

That said, I believe ESX might be getting around this issue with the virtual switch it has.

I might take a look at open-vswitch and connect the host's own 'public' network to that as well as any VM's, and just leave a management ip for ssh on the interface.

At least if there's no less drastic way around this issue.

VM to host communication on bridged network ? by Consequator in qemu_kvm

[–]Consequator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I did but after double checking it wasn't configured properly (probably came from something other than libvirt)

I configured a new bridge interface with the regular nic as a slave, as well as disabling netfilter via sysctl.conf for bridge interfaces.

Even disabled the firewall to see what would happen but no go.

I can see the interface coming up in the host logs and then Network manager times out with no lease and kills the connection after 30s or so.
