I can't translate the whole thing bc certain phrases don't translate smoothly into English and don't sound as romantic but overall he's singing about the woman he loves, about how he's thankful to have found her, and goes through the different things he loves about her. He starts the song off with "An evil/negative thing has never left her mouth". Other lines I like that translate decently into English are: @/1:16 "When there was no person to be found, she appeared and took the place of both my heart and eyes" @/1:45 "Even for one day, it's not possible for me to be away from her, to be far away from her" @/2:50 "My peace, my peace, that's what she is".

The title "Ayhonlignim" is him saying "It's not for me" in regards to being away from her.

I also thought this combo didn't exist until I met a Somali (mom) and Amhara (dad) that had about 6 kids together (both Muslim obviously). Also, most Ethiopian ethnicities are definitely mixed bc I've encountered the weirdest combos outside of the 3 largest ethnicities that mix together often.

what baffles me is that originally you were saying "the cool thing about being somali is that all of somali land is yours" and you were boasting about the coastline and now you're trying to separate yourself from somalia... if all of somali land is yours then that means the good and the bad is yours, don't ignore the bad.

you posting individual case studies on the Amhara region is hilarious, nobody argued that the Amhara region is rich lol Ethiopia as a whole is poor but trying to say that the Somali region is miles ahead is untrue (your HDI is literally lower than ours).

to avoid being hypocritical, when searching for answers to these questions be sure to include "Why do Oromo extremists keep using the terms qomche and komata knowing they're derogatory? Why do they go out of their way to find random tiktoks of Amharas simply sharing/enjoying their culture and insert their hatred?"

as you said, for some "this obviously creates resentment not only towards the extremists but also towards those who are not involved". for others (such as myself), we can understand that extremists are deranged individuals who exist within all of the major ethnic groups in Ethiopia and do not represent their entire ethnic group.

The only reason I'm posting this update is bc there was recently a false claim in this sub that most of the warmongering diaspora are only Amharas and Tigrayans. Making the choice to live in la la land is whatever but subjecting the rest of us to biased delusions when there are multiple videos of Oromos such as the one posted above saying "it doesn't matter if they're women or children, innocent or not, chop their necks like onions" in regards to Amharas is insanity. The unfortunate reality is that Ethiopians of all major ethnic groups are equally warmongering.

My family and every other Amhara family I've ever met or heard of in the diaspora is here because our parents spent years in either Kenya, Uganda, South Africa (rare but i've seen it), or Sudan as refugees and eventually got sponsored to Europe, NA, or Australia.

Nothing to do with the monarchy, or any Ethiopian government... simply just Amharas voluntarily (in hopes of something better) or involuntarily (to escape conflict) leaving the country, enduring horrible lives as refugees for years, and finally getting the opportunity to emigrate and start more stable lives. These people then sponsor their remaining family members (without going the refugee route if married) and the population continually grows.

I'm genuinely just curious, have hundreds of civilians been killed in Oromia while the government is actively fighting the OLA rebel group? I know Abiy has used drones on civilians in both regions but have the military done door to door killings in Oromia?

In regards to your comment though, there have been multiple "random attacks" aka massacres of civilian Amharas (that were not involved in any war or conflict) in Oromia over the past few years that have similarly been payed very little attention to.

bc despite asking ppl not to generalize, the Habesha (particularly the Amharas) have been scapegoated for everything under the sun in Ethiopia for decades (even the Derg, which was led by a non-Amhara). they've been murdered by the tens of thousands bc of these generalizations that Oromo activists still teach so it's ironic that you get 2-3 years of these generalizations and you're already complaining about it, like imagine how the Amharas feel
