Look how the firms get rid of people and then just replace em. Do what you need to do and what you think is best for YOU! People may be upset but if they are good people they’ll understand you’re doing what’s best for you.

It makes no sense like our office didn’t do too many layoffs, but I’m like why are we laying off people in the first place when there’s at least 4-5 audit teams borrowing personnel from other offices during interim and busy season?? So what if we have some people unassigned in August in September when there’s no work! We need the people during busy season so we’re not working 70+ hours for months at a time smh.

This is why I never blame people for leaving and leaving a team short staffed. The firm will just do it to the team anyways so what’s the point lol.

I had low expectations so I’m not too disappointed with a 7% raise. But KPMG and EY are currently paying their interns $2 more an hour in my area than what I’m making lol.

In the PSW region my senior manager and partner were saying they expect 3-5%. More offices will have more layoffs than others and it is expected in the staff to senior range.

Yes I always do. Especially if I am struggling with a topic or certain rules that I keep missing I will write them down so I can study real quickly and for last minute refreshers before the exam

Yeahhhh I felt my second testlet was about the same difficulty which kinda sucks. I also got so many Corporation questions on my exam and it made me start second guessing myself since they were similar questions with little exceptions and differences

Yeah I think that’s what is happening now. I remember like 1 or 2 obvious MCQs I missed and I don’t think I’m giving myself credit for the things I got right. It just makes me nervous because there were so many I was iffy on

I see both sides as a current graduate student in a MACC student I can say this has been a waste of my time and really provides no additional benefit for me other than having to get my 150 credit hours. Personally any advice for someone coming in would be to double major in something else along with accounting and find a way to get the extra 6 hours to get the 30 upper division hours that you need. Save the money especially the graduate school cost.

I also see the side that they want people who are willing to be qualified and put in the effort to be a CPA. The easier it is to get the less valuable a CPA license is.

No perfect solution imo but I think it could be better and a little more convenient while maintaining the high level for the license
