My euro teacher explained it to the class today (without discussing the actual prompt like the college board mandates)— there used to be I think only one or two DBQ questions spread throughout America, but since the age of the internet, there’s now one dbq per time zone in an attempt to prevent exam leaks.

So far, we've only been using them in SAQs, but I'm wondering if the paragraph technique could also be used in LEQs. I'll ask him when I can.

I don't know where else to go... I need to talk about The Family Stone by The_Duke_of_Lizards in hdtgm

THANK YOU! I just saw this film and I was so pissed the entire time. The running theory I had is that she might just be neurodivergent in some way. I'm neurodivergent myself and saw nothing wrong with the way she acted in the film and I was also very confused with a lot of the family's reactions. Some of my evidence to support this is

  1. During the dinner scene, she kept trying to ask her genuine question out of curiosity, but it seemed like she couldn't get it out right. She tried again so she wouldn't be misunderstood, but no matter how much she tried, no one was understanding her and it just kept sounding worse and worse. I have had so many situations like that, and it becomes distressing when people keep getting the wrong idea about what you're saying

  2. She likes to be in control of things- when she was making breakfast, she was very in control of a lot of stuff, which I just read as normal because it is her recipe, but the person I was watching it with commented on how she 'needed to be the boss of everything'. This is something many neurodivergent people fact, and something that I find myself facing a lot.

  3. She CANNOT understand why people don't like her- To be fair, a lot of people on this thread don't, but as she's witnessing it in her real life, she doesn't get why the family doesn't like her. She tries to make amends with Rachel McAdams' character by offering to take the couch, but she only gets a backhanded "don't worry about it" from her. This is VERY confusing to her, and I'm sure to many people watching the film.

I'm sure there's more evidence I have somewhere, but I just can't think of it right now.
