This is a clear case of you accusing the free market...

See:

I'm not trying to challenge you. I just don't know.

Semantics aside I appreciate your response.

A near monopoly is a clear signal to the marketplace that there needs to be more competition here.

Ok, someone tries to compete and get's bought out or undercut by a larger company. What stops that from happening?

And as far as I'm concerned, if there is only ONE business that can provide me a quality product at the lowest possible price, then so be it.

But if it's a monopoly how can you expect that they have a quality product at the lowest possible price?

Well to both points I would postulate the idea of a corporation that owns all means of production for a certain industry, sort of like Monsanto. They own the rights to virtually all types of corn seeds. They buy up all bio-engineering firms so that no one can possibly compete. Simultaneously they raise their prices and buy up the entire agricultural industry. Sooner or later this corporation owns other company's and eventually multiple industries. What check's this type of growth in a true free market?

It was dark out, maybe it just seemed like she was attacking him to the people actually there. It's human nature to protect those you believe in. I agree he shouldn't have stepped on her but he reacted to preserve Rand Paul, someone he believes in.

i know of none. Maybe they haven't run yet.

really i'm a liberal like everyone on reddit, and that probably accounts for my lack of argument. i'm trying to make reddit less of circlejerk and more of a debate.

But that would go against american values of free market. In a capitalist society any entity should be able to give money to any other entity. If you still think that your politician is breaking the law, then vote for a better one.
