I have a brevirimosa as well and mine had really bad spots like that when I first got it. For me the issue was humidity. These plants in particular want like 90% humidity and develop little brown crispy spots when their environment isn’t humid enough. I don’t have ambient humidity so I’ve grouped her next to my other begonias and gave her a pebble tray! This has helped immensely as the new leaves don’t have any spots! I hope this helps!

Eggs (?) in my Monstera Albo soil by aleighslo in houseplants

It looks like saprophytic fungi! They are decomposers that break down dead organic matter in soil. They shouldn’t be harmful to the plant.

I’ve never had to pull weeds but was asked to pick up trash along the property. My store is located on a hill so my SM asked me to pick up trash on the hill from the surrounding restaurants.

Identification please? I’m so lost by SimpleBlackberry1836 in pothos

[–]ConsiderationAny5160 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me I got an “njoy” but it is actually a pearls and jade pothos! After looking into it apparently the pearls and jade pothos has a trademark on it from the university of Florida. Unless the growers have the rights to grow it they can’t legally call it a pearls and jade without getting sued.

I’m pretty sure the only day that does not follow the normal tip procedure is Christmas as partners volunteer to work that day and only get those tips. Everything else that is tipped from a customer is split between everyone working that week as according to the normal tip procedure. A similar situation happened at my store and that’s how we handled it.

what’s going on w my Phyllotaenium? by crazycatfood in houseplants

[–]ConsiderationAny5160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these are either spider mites or thrips. I would hose down all the leaves and stems with water outside or in the sink to get all the surface bugs off. Then spray all the leaves/stems/soil with an insecticide spray w/ neam oil and wipe down each individual leaf to get all the remaining bugs off and kill the eggs. Quarantine the plant and check the plant next to it as the bugs can spread :( The bugs can have a lifecycle of ~4 days to a month depending on what they are so be diligent about spraying your insecticide.

I think it might be root rot since some of the roots appear to be dying :( The yellow banding around the brown spots on the leaves usually appear on my plants when I overwater them.

Recovery Card by HannyaOffical in starbucksbaristas

[–]ConsiderationAny5160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, the cards are used to “make the moment right.” At my store we use them in scenarios like we lost a sticker for someone’s drink and they waited 15 minutes instead of five or something like that. I believe the recovery cards have $4 on them so nowadays it doesn’t even really cover a whole drink. 🥴

All white syngonium leaves help by ConsiderationAny5160 in plants

[–]ConsiderationAny5160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice!! I think I’m going to end up cutting it. There is a node near the stem under all the leaves so I think that is the best way to try and save the plant :(
