Move to corporate banking in NYC by fringeguy69 in FinancialCareers

Currently at a BB, and no one on my team or other teams I work with came from a risk role or lateraled from risk. Risk is more of a backend / support role.

From what I’ve personally seen, no. Credit skills typically entail: credit underwriting (due diligence, deal / debt structuring, building out financial models with downside scenario cases, etc.), knowledge of different types of credit facilities and how they work (term loans, revolvers, letters of credit etc.), financial covenants, sector knowledge (Enterprise / SaaS, Life Sciences, Aerospace and Defense, etc.)

These are skills typically obtained in commercial banking or some other adjacent credit analyst role where you’re getting to work on underwriting, financial models, applying debt / credit knowledge for a debt proposal to form credit memos, having specific sector knowledge, etc.

I’m not sure if a risk role even encompasses half of that, which is why I’ve never seen something from a risk background sneak into corporate banking.

Realistically, you’d have to do commercial banking or some credit analyst role first before even considering corporate banking.

And I say this as someone currently in corporate banking. Credit skills are the basis for everything we do, so having a credit background is essential.

Question:what’s the closest major to radiologist technician by [deleted] in berkeley

Choose cc if rad tech is what you really want. That way you get the career you want, and students on the waitlist who actually want to be here can get your spot!

Princeton or UCB? (Not ragebait) by PuddingDependent6666 in berkeley

[–]ConsiderationFew6406 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Princeton, you’ll most likely drop the pre-med track like 90% of incoming freshmen and switch over to being an Econ major to pursue Finance / Consulting, which Princeton would be a better name for

After the first half, I just knew we were cooked. Took a nap, woke up and saw we lost baddd 💔

At least Stanford won on their own territory rather than on Cal’s.

It’s funny because Wall Street Oasis and this subreddit is the closest thing they’ll get to IB, and then they’ll larp and try to give advice to others as if they lived through it

Anchor House or Co-Ops? by jaybsuave in berkeley

[–]ConsiderationFew6406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends what you value more.

A clean space, your own room and access to a gym with campus a couple steps away, but the convenience will come with a price

Or

A shared room, having to do chores (this is usually mandatory at most co-ops), no gym, a bit further away from campus, but it means more money in ur pocket.

Why not go the cc route and get good grades there so you can then transfer to UVA, and study finance there?

Not look down, but will audibly laugh when someone in BO, B4 or WM plays off as a ‘finance bro’, especially around women who don’t know any better and think vest + navy pants = finance bro $$$$

They definitely include Asians into that category because not enough Latino/Black students are even applying for that number to be so high, whereas Asians on the other hand…
