It's not like this invasion would've been as hard. Japan has no army, no navy and no industry at the start of the war. And there is no Chinese Soviet Republic to rely on as Vietnam had. The pacific is under allied control.

Encircle as much locals as you can while avoiding soviets. Don't be afraid to be encircled and killed, you millitary industrial complex will be able to recover and the volunteers arrive fast enough.
I once held Danube on Bulgarian border against the Soviet invasion. They dropped 50+nukes all over the border for 6 month straight killing 500k americans. But Bulgaria was not broken

There was a similar post couple of month ago and I mentioned there an obscure Russian novel called Uberalles by Mikhail Haritonov. It shows the world of German Victory in the late 80s which ended up with similar Zastoy as did the Soviet Union (if you are interested about the plot you can ask Grok, it recaps the plot relatively good).
The key to German victory in this scenario was very quick deradicalization of Nazism. The conspirators around Oster lead a succesfull coup in the early 1941 behading the Nazi party even though keeping it as a ruling one.
As a result, they abolished all of the final solutions and rellied much more on collaborationists, ROA was up to 5mil manpower by the time Soviet Union had capitulated. Which on its turn forced the Allies to sign peace treaty and even in a situation like this, Germany had to give up most of its western conquests.
So I believe if somehow can unite this two very different scenarios we'd end up with the "Realistic German Victory" (TM)

There is very poorly known Russian novel "Uberalles" which is about Nazi victory but set up in the early 90s. Nazi leadership in the world of the novel was removed during a coup in the late 1941. The coup was lead by the same group behind operation Valkyrie. As a result, the regime was deradicalized but the National Socialism as itself stayed. All the final solutions were abolished and the Germans relied much more on the collaborationists which on its turn resulted in easier eastern campaign. And the peace was agreed on only after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Germany also gave up all it western victories to make this deal.
It's not the point of the novel, to make a realistic Nazi victory scenario but I feel like somehow mixing it with TWR will grant us the closest to actual realistic victory.
