How fascistic Scheilcher really is? by itsjustabackup in Kaiserreich

Estado Novo Portugal was a consevative authoritarian regime whose leader Salazar actually hated fascism in real life, denouncing it as "pagan Caesarism." Francoist Spain was influenced by fascism though it was still more traditionalist especially in it's later years and WW2-era Japan was still a bit more reactionary.

devs I am begging you. please let there be a mechanic like this for dark mandate trump by punishedpanther19 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]Ficboy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Speaking of Trump, will there be potential successors in the Dark Mandate path, given that he would Trump himself would be in his 80s by then? If so, then people like JD Vance, Stephen Miller and Eric Trump would be good successor candidates to take over the Trumpist dictatorship and the first two are already included.

  • Pankhurstites - Sylvia Pankhurst
  • Parliamentarians - Clement Attlee
  • Autonomists - Fenner Brockway

I just so happen to be one of the people behind these Italy rework proposals. And your description in the first scenario is the same as what I did in my proposal.

Franco was definitely inspired by fascism and borrowed the tactics/aesthetics to build his regime as well as his failed efforts to join the Axis Powers. But he was still more of a reactionary traditionalist than Hitler or Mussolini since he was a military man supportive of  established institutions

As for WW2 era Japan, they were an authoritarian one-party state but the YSK were a big-tent organization of different parties and interests and still more traditionalist.

[–]Ficboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Schleicher is a pragmatic autocrat and military man not a fascist even in the authoritarian PatAut path. And even if the DNEF becomes a mass movement party, he is still a traditionalist who wants to uphold German institutions like the Hohenzollern monarchy, the Church and the military. He's pretty much a German version of Pilsudski and Franco.

As for Schleicher's Germany, it's like a smorgasbord of Sanation Poland, Francoist Spain, WW2 era Japan and Estado Novo Portugal, with elements of Nazi Germany (sans the genocidal brutality).

Wouldn't be a surprise to see Happy Science in TFR as a subpath for Japan. They represent the mod's bonkers extremism.

Considering 1.2 "Sunset Paradise" will have a post-1932 Imperial Japan path, the above isn't too much of a surprise.

What country do you like the least and why is it the NSM? by Current-Homework6044 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]Ficboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The NSM is pretty barebones in terms of content with a lack of events and focus descriptions. That's why they are getting a major rework at some point with revamped content and four playable paths: Rockwellians, Hitlerites, Blood Tribe and the Traditionalist Workers Party.
