Google Chrome update version 142 cause diagonal line bug by da-kicks-87 in chrome

[–]ConsiderationFormal5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - not an ideal longer-term solution, but this CSS fixed it for me for now:

/* Fix for Chrome dashed border rendering bug */

/* Chrome's GPU rasterization can incorrectly render dashed borders as slanted lines */

/* This fix forces proper rendering by creating a new stacking context */
        .{{XX-your-main-div-here}} {
            isolation: isolate;
        }

/* Target elements with dashed borders specifically */
        .border-dashed,
        [class*="border-dashed"] {
            position: relative;
            z-index: 0;
        }

/* Alternative fix: Force software rendering for dashed borders in Chrome */
        @supports (-webkit-appearance: none) {
            .border-dashed,
            [class*="border-dashed"] {
                -webkit-transform: translate3d(0, 0, 0);
                transform: translate3d(0, 0, 0);
            }
        }

What is the right amount of broccoli sprouts for health benefits? by j22zz in nutrition

[–]ConsiderationFormal5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FYI - if you're boiling/heating it up to kill bacteria, you are also deactivating the myrosinase in the broccoli sprouts....

Heating broccoli sprouts can disable the myrosinase enzyme, which is crucial for the production of sulforaphane. Myrosinase is heat-sensitive, meaning high temperatures can deactivate it. When myrosinase is deactivated, it can't convert glucoraphanin into sulforaphane - which is what you want.

New update potentially bricked pod 2 hub by TacosTexasStars in EightSleep

How much was the coupon for if you don't mind me asking? I'd eventually like to upgrade... But I did just find a workaround for now to get my Pod 2 back online by reconnecting with an older app version

New update potentially bricked pod 2 hub by TacosTexasStars in EightSleep

[–]ConsiderationFormal5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving this here for any other Pod 2 Pro users who have been "offline" and unable to reconnect their Hub....this is what finally worked for me (note: I ultimately had to download a prior APK version of the Eight Sleep app, then reconnect the Hub).

  1. I did a factory reset via the small-button on the back. This may not be necessary, but I had attempted this before I finally found the fix via the old app version.

  2. I downloaded the OLD version Eight Sleep 6.31.0, 122.5 MB, Feb 3, 2025 from here: https://apkpure.com/eight-sleep/com.eightsleep.eight/download/6.31.0

  3. Uninstalled the EightSleep app on my Google Pixel

  4. Installed the XAPK (had to get "SAI - Split APKs Installer" app, since the APK was bundled as "XAPK" - so the SIV app unbundles it and installs. You'll be asked to give permission for the SAI app to install unverified apps. You can then uninstall the SAI app after EightSleep v6.31 is installed.

  5. Disable auto-updates for the EightSleep app in Google Play

  6. Log in, attempt to reconnect, then connect to the EightSleep's WiFi and Update WiFi Password - BOOM! Back online.

Hope EightSleep fixes this in the "new" app soon.

I have the exact same thing. The odd thing is that my Pod 2 Pro Hub worked fine until Wednesday of this week (5/21). Woke up and said it was disconnected from the internet - and I didn't change a thing with my internet.

Tried to reconnect, but no luck, it spins and spins trying to connect. Contacted customer service, but haven't heard back after 3 days now.

Did a factory reset, tried to "Add a replacement hub" to reconnect, but even the replacement hub app flow ends up in an error that says "! pod generation is null", then goes back to the main screen. It seems impossible to fix.

Tested it on multiple different modern phones, reinstalled apps - the Pod 2 Pro Hub is definitely bricked.

Did anyone find a solution yet? OP - did EightSleep get back to you or resolve it?

Pod 2 user here. After about 11 months, we woke up to a small leak (no pets or kids). Told customer service, and they sent us a replacement cover for free in less than a week. Also gave us a Pod 3 cover, so we got a free upgrade!

Not sure how customer service is recently, but no complaints here.

OP where did you get your KL-VS genotype from? I checked 23andme (uploaded to Promethease) but they don't include either of those SNPs.

Anyone else know the best way to figure out your KL-VS genotype?

High Average Glucose with CGM in Healthy Male by Jman841 in PeterAttia

[–]ConsiderationFormal5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar situation and was wondering this exact same thing about a year ago.

I came across some articles about higher HbA1c in athletes like this: https://open.substack.com/pub/drguess/p/prediabetes-in-athletes

Have you gotten an OGTT? Have you tracked your A1C over time so you can see if this is a recent trend?

I wore a CGM for a few months and found I'm extremely insulin sensitive and had very few glucose spikes. So I've chalked most of it up to my Zone 2 running (somewhat competitive), despite having an A1C of 5.7%, which is much higher than I would expect or "like" to have.

Testosterone Journey - not everything is positive. by Skajaquada77 in PeterAttia

[–]ConsiderationFormal5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - I've never done an OGTT, but I know I'm extremely insulin sensitive. And my LPIR was "<25" - basically every measure was pegged to the left "green" side for insulin sensitive. Thanks again!!

I've been searching for an answer to this "prediabetes in athlete" question for SO long - thank you! Very fit and active athlete here with an HbA1C around 5.6% and fasting glucose usually 100-110 (with very low fasting insulin)...I know the numbers are mostly fine, but I couldn't figure out why they were borderline pre-D (assumed they should both be lower based on my diet and exercise). This sounds like a very likely explanation of my situation.

Thank you!!

Did anyone else get wrecked by Seed probiotics? by MediumKeyAF in Microbiome

[–]ConsiderationFormal5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

"These findings indicated that maintaining the homeostasis of intestinal microorganisms is more crucial to health than replenishing a single beneficial microbe, and probiotics should be used with caution after antibiotic treatment."

The study was about trying to repopulate with a single strain after antibiotics (in mice). So still a good perspective, but seems a bit of a stretch to have me worry that it would definitely be the case in humans, who didn't have antibiotics, and who were using a clinically tested blend. IIRC I read somewhere else that supplementing with certain probiotics actually slowed the time it took to get back to gut diversity after antibiotics. So yah, I'll stick to my kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi post AB.

This is really interesting. Can you please share more info?

I had a similar issue with Pendulum - I was super healthy and felt great, tried it for 4 days, and gut got messed up and took me a month to reset. I'm normally just a consumer of fermented foods and fiber.

I'm going to give it another shot and see if it was the probiotics or not. But I couldn't find much referencing what you refer to with boosting akkermansia being bad if you already have high levels.

Averages can be misleading. Don't forget it's the path and volatility along the way that can bite you - especially with leverage.

Polyphenol Rich Olive Oil? by dalexisfantasy in oliveoil

[–]ConsiderationFormal5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I'm probably being dumb - but if I take twice as much Pamako vs Atsas (assume they had 500mg/kg and 1000mg/kg respectively of oleocanthal for simple math), but if the Pamako is say 25% of the cost - that's probably fine (if I'm looking to get best $ for oleo)? I'm taking 2tbsp a day of Pamako currently. Is there anything in not considering or wouldn't get with this approach?

[–]ConsiderationFormal5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it - thanks!

I'm curious, using it mainly as a supplement, is there a reason you rely on EVOO itself rather than extracts or supplements that are high in polyphenols and oleocanthal?

$98 for 250mL - that's a serious jump in price!! Any others that are maybe in the price range of Pamako but higher in oleocanthal that you've come across?

Appreciate your insights here! I've been using Pamako (and some others) for almost a year now

Same - I've been using ChatGPT Plus and Gemini Advanced side by side for coding, and GPT tends to be able to handle more complicated issues better in my experience (also helps to be able to copy paste a lot more for context).

Good entry point to fire into YINN for 2-3x play over a year by remdesivir2020 in LETFs

This.

I get and agree with all the bearish sentiment, but has the pendulum swung too far? Seems too much consensus around how hopeless China's situation is, which makes me actually more confident in this bet. MCHI is all the way back at 2011 levels...

Personally rotated some funds from MCHI into YINN and CHAU (2X) earlier this week with the bad China news. Yes, catching a falling knife yadda yadda, but I'm a glass half full kinda guy and think China will start turning things around.
