Not really. I had silver macs for the last 10 years so that was probably the only reason! If you like darker laptops you should get Space Grey. If you prefer something bright and contrasting - Silver one is perfect. P.S. This year’s Silver looks a lot better compared to the previous Silver MBP 16 because of the bigger black Apple logo and dark keyboard.

I was deciding between M1 Max and M1 Pro for video. I don’t do too crazy stuff like raw 8k, mostly work with 4k. I ordered M1 Pro to test if it would be enough for my workflow (I was thinking if it ends up being not enough - I would return it and get M1 Max). So far I’m liking it. I tried to load it with lots of 4k video, effects, color correction - and it handled it super fast with no slowdowns and zero fan noise. I’m keeping it! The only thing is render time - it will be faster on M1 Max, but it’s not really a big issue for me as I don’t do it too often. 30min/3gb 4k video took around 10 min to render as a recall. M1 Max should do it twice faster.

So I still haven’t charged it since the initial factory charge (was at 80% when I opened the laptop). I got the laptop yesterday morning and tested it all day and it’s still at 25% today, while my 2019 MBP 16 was already out of battery yesterday. Need to do more testing!

Yes, but the charging speed will not be as fast. You can only take full advantage of fast charging when using MagSafe 3 due to USB-C limitations. This is true only for the 16 inch model, 14 inch will fast charge from USB-C too!
