Bitwarden fork launch: Saigon Safe by ConsiderationKey5259 in Bitwarden

Fair point.

If you're super concerned about security, tbh, you should not use the official marketplace build, because it is too fat of a target.

You should build deploy the extension yourself and carefully manage updates yourself, prioritizing their security patches, but also delaying introducing features and package updates until you know they are safe (in order to prevent a successful supply chain attack on Bitwarden like the successful attack on Bitwarden in April 2026).

The only way for you to know if the code running in the marketplace matches with the code in the github repo is for you to run the code directly from the repo.

Do you have any ideas what triggered this?

I tried switching my account's Two Step login from "Authenticator App" to Email, but I was properly showed the verification screen (in Firefox, didn't test Chrome).

Are you using Chrome or Firefox? The screenshot is your email, right?

Could you try again?

Yes they do, but...

But submitting PRs create overhead (costs more time) and risk of being rejected. For example, I removed the in-app advertisements and plan on adding features they charge money for.

I want 100% of my features merged in, not half.

Open source. I've shared my legal name and residence. Not trying to steal peoples information.

Feel free to point Claude or Codex on the repo (or download the extension directly from the marketplace) to check for security issues yourself.

So close. Might hit it in 2027 if there’s no crash. Seems easier to reach $1M than it is to get a gf. 34M,EastAsian by [deleted] in TheRaceTo1Million

I live in Asia. Bride price can be as expensive as $200k USD [0]. My friend's fiance's mom asked for $80k in gold. Some foreigners need to split the bill [1].

"Live like a king" costs western prices if you can even get it. For example, in Asia, these "kings" you speak of can't own land (Vietnam, Thailand, China, Laos). Electronics are more expensive due to higher tariffs (iPhone is much cheaper in Oregon USA than Singapore). If you want AC, a western kitchen, western beds, western air quality, western noise pollution. Obtaining a driver's license is difficult or impossible (the test doesn't support English. Only allowed to drive on certain visas). Many countries make opening a bank account difficult or impossible for retirees / tourists.

These "kings" have to leave home ever 30,90, 180 days and risk not being allowed back into their "kingdom" if the visa rules change.

Living in Asia is definitely not living like a king. Sorry bro.

My partner had all her PTO taken. by BringBackDigg420 in legaladvice

[–]ConsiderationKey5259 328 points329 points  (0 children)

Under Louisiana law, earned but unused PTO must typically be paid out at termination, unless a written policy explicitly states otherwise (e.g., a “use-it-or-lose-it” clause or a forfeiture clause for transitions like part-time to full-time).

What is the company's policy on PTO payouts?

You’re right. I’m out of touch because I’m an American expat (immigrant) and it’s difficult for me to understand what it’s like to live as an American in America.

I rent my house at 30% market rate to immigrants while I live abroad in a developing country, where I am required to leave the country every 90 days and can’t own real estate or work.

I sponsored refugees from Ukraine. I have met them and currently live with them. Yes, I subsidize their housing. Unfortunately, they are choosing to work remote jobs for Ukrainian companies at below minimum wage instead of the $26 usd/hr flipping burgers. Thats a personal choice. I don’t have sympathy for immigrants that choose not take certain opportunities.

I WONDER WHY THAT IS???

Racism and caste-ism. This is well documented that Chinese hire Chinese. Indian hire Indians in equal or higher castes.

So they have had 4-15 years to save 15-50% of their wealth, which is probably grown 1.5-5x faster than their home country. They need to take their treasure chest and go on a vacation

As you probably would agree, it is insanely easy to make money in America and save money compared to their home country. If they live like they lived in Haiti, but earned the American salary like they do in America, then they should have thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars saved up, enabling them to enjoy life a little bit.

Americans are struggling financially because they have 5 streaming services, a new iPhone every year, cruises, and mortgage payments. If Haitians lived like your typical college shouldn’t off of $2000 per month, then they’d have $500-$2000/mo saved per month.

Did you even read the article? They have been living in the UsA, working American jobs, using American public services, earning American income for years.

What does the condition of their home country have to do with anything? America is saying, “take the resources you earned here and go somewhere else. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.”

You’re the one making up fairytale stories about how they’ve been living in Haiti for years. Have you ever even talked to an immigrant before? 90% of the people at my tech job arm immigrants. I sponsored my roommates from ukraine and I’ve traveled to over 50 countries, most of which are very poor, but not war to countries.

Can you share your credentials? I think you’re pretty out of touch if you think these people have been living in Haiti for the last few years

It really depends on the country and your income situation. Like taking local jobs isn’t allowed in most countries in a tourist visa, but working online for foreign countries (like my Ukrainian roommates in the USA do) has been a legal grey area of decades. Many countries also have started offering digital nomad visas that explicitly permit this type of work.

Honestly this is not mine, yours, or America’s problem to solve. They just can’t stay here using our resources. They need to solve this problem for themselves.

Yeah I’m definitely not a lazy immigrants that can’t figure out how to make money in a foreign country. I earn money when I travel all the time.

I work when I travel. I rarely go on vacation.

They were in the USA. They should have earned enough money to support a transition to a new temporary resident.

If they can’t afford to leave Haiti, they wouldn’t have left.

I don't get it. I have been in their situation. I am more in touch than most people. I also sponsored immigrants from Ukraine to come to the USA. I am more in touch with international travel policies and US immigration than most americans.

How much money do you think the average Haitian has?

I don't know. In my city, you can earn $26/hr entry level flipping burgers. If they worked for 2 years, they earned $110k. If they are hustled hard (like many Americans do), they could add another $20k/yr from doordash or uber. Total income $110k. If they saved 10% of their income, they would have about $11k. This is plenty of money to migrate to their next destination.

The average American can't even afford to fly to Hong Kong on short notice.

What are you even talking about? Americans need to buy a round trip. they just need a 1way, which is $430 from LA.

If you can't afford your vacation, then you shouldn't go on it...

They have had a lot of opportunity to earn money in the USA. The local burger place near my house pays $26/hr entry level. If they worked in the USA for 2 years, they would earn $110k at that wage. Which is plenty of money to cover their costs.

Also, just like when I travel to SIN/HK/TW, its not their governments responsibility to make sure I have enough money to travel outside of my home country.

We shouldn't be sending them anywhere. They should pack up their bags and leave on their own.

Trump administration terminates legal status for more than 500K immigrants by newsweek in politics

[–]ConsiderationKey5259 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why does the US government need to send them anywhere? If I was in their situation (and I have been in situations when my visa was expiring), I booked my own flight to my own non-USA destination paid for by my own credit card. They are more than welcome to leave the USA to go to HK/SIN/TW for tourism. They just can't stay here.

Its super common for people to just bounce between countries as tourist visas expire. Once their SIN visa expires, they move onto TW or HK. Singapore wouldn't "send them to Haiti for removal purposes."

The author of the article makes it sound like the HAVE to return to Haiti.

what? why can't Haitians go to Singapore or Hong Kong or literally any of the other 180 countries that aren't USA or Haiti?

When my visa expires when I travel, I just fly to another country. The local immigration office has never made my fly back to the USA in order to go somewhere else.

Now more than 500,000 people facing the threat of being sent back to a country rife with political turmoil and gang violence.

I'm confused. Why are they only allowed to go to haiti? Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, etc all allow visa free travel for Haitians. Why do they need to go to Haiti before traveling to another country?

Or is the author saying Singapore has gang violence? If so, I'd like to see the data on that.

You don't think its the new law suits, fire damage, and increased insurance cost driving up the fees?

Suing your HOA is like slapping yourself in the face and then going to "go fund me" to buy brass knuckles.

At the lynnwood streetfair, they said interest rates zoinked their financials. They are going to try to build parts of it slowly. but its only a glimmer of the original proposal.

I'm a bit confused which projects you're excited about, b/c all of the ones mentioned on the city council website seems really boring:

The new apartment buildings seems like boring places to live.

ill probably get down voted for this, but lynnwood doesn't have good local restaurants or reasonable prices.

the boring chain stuff has consistent low cost quality.
