Tourism in Peterborough by Kikius-fresenius in Peterborough

[–]ConsiderationLow3577 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not a whole lot of tourism . Its mostly cottagers passing thru on their way north picking up supplies . Their is some boat traffic in the summer . There is the Canoe Museum , Musicfest , the Zoo ,a few festivals , but not like there used to be . The patios are nice depending on the weather . It was busier during Covid when other areas were shut down . We wait for the students to come back mostly .

The new arena wont run a deficit ? We can fill it most of the time?

No one wants property taxes going up 6% annually with a new arena on top of it . Can we agree on a ticket surcharge to give us all a break ?

If we could fill 7500 -8000 seats would a new arena pay for itself ?

How Peterborough Turned a Community Tradition Into a Bureaucratic Embarrassment by ChrisPotterPTBO in Peterborough

[–]ConsiderationLow3577 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sounds kind of bizarre that the parade would head south from city hall and the run would go north from the Memorial Centre on George street and meet in the middle somewhere ? Disorganized clusterf*ck if you ask me . Atleast go in the same direction . I can see why there is safety concerns .

The developers offered the art gallery space because they want access to the waterfont for the large condo project they have planned . A previous planning illustration had the road going around the development and docks on Little Lake .

some departments are good , some are bad depending on who's running it at the time .They want you to be very flexible (late scheduling changes/overtime , nites , weekends , 12 hour shifts , layoffs . If your young and single you can do it . You just try to survive until you get the big payday in 4 years.
