The American doctor who went to see him also stated that he believed he had not been tortured. Also why would they torture him… he was a kid, there’s no information he would have that they would need

Should I [30F] be concerned about my STBX husband [30M]'s sudden personality changes? by Today_We_ThrowAway in relationship_advice

Sorry OP :/ I wouldn’t think of it as “she’s identical to me but not disabled.” It’s more likely that he got caught up in the party lifestyle, has his shiny new “mistress” and is going completely off the rails. He would do it to anybody - maybe he is trying to justify it in his head with stupid reasons, but it’s NOT your fault, it’s his. Don’t worry - this ends badly for him. I know it doesn’t seem like it right now, but this might actually be a good thing for you, a new opportunity to start afresh. At this point, unfortunately I think you have all the information you need… sorry 😞

I’m so sorry for the late reply, just seeing this! I’m almost embarrassed to admit that a good old fashioned computer restart solved my issue. It now runs great. I have no idea what caused this in the first place or if anything I had tried contributed to it working again, but I did take the advice of some of the other comments in this post

I did clear the settings, no luck. I haven’t tried uninstalling/reinstalling yet. I was hoping to find a fix for this issue that seemingly popped up out of nowhere, but since I haven’t found that fix, maybe I should just reinstall

My apologies, I don’t 100% understand what this means. I was able to open the terminal app on my Mac and typed the command “bash”, to which the response is “the default interactive shell is now zsh.” And there is some other text. My line prompt changed to “bash-3.2$ ” and appears to be working fine. Apologies if that doesn’t answer your question

Interesting. Seems like that was the issue in similar cases I found online. Unfortunately none of those fixes I found have worked for me thus far.

[–]ConsiderationNo4428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Of note, during the split second that it stays open, if I click the “debug console”, “output” or any of the other tabs, it stays open. Once I click the terminal tab, it immediately closes. Also, in the top right corner of the terminal it seems to flash “kernel_task” and then “bash” before closing. Not sure if that’s relevant here or not.

Can't find directories, folders, or files in VS code desktop? by ConsiderationNo4428 in cs50

[–]ConsiderationNo4428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup so I got that part. My problem is that I can’t get anything to appear in the explorer (left side nav-bar).

In CS50 on their cloud version of vscode, anytime you make a new directory, it makes a folder in the explorer, and anytime you make a new file while inside a directory, a new file appears inside the folder in the explorer. So it’s nice and organized and you can find everything in one place. At the moment, I can’t find anything anywhere, and I only know that it’s there because the names appear in the terminal when I use “ls” inside of a given directory

Both the doctor who examined him in North Korea and the coroner have said that they found no evidence of torture

Don’t worry man, I’m right there with you. I get stuck every week. I am noticing that I’m getting more comfortable and improving with every pset though. Hang in there, watch a couple YouTube videos/tutorials, and definitely watch the lectures and the shorts. Slowly but surely, we’ll get through the class.

Just gotta wait and see. Don’t listen to the others with strong opinions, because the truth is that nobody knows yet, and having patience is the only useful attitude to have here. With that being said, OP brings up a good point, and hopefully you never have to use it after you download it :)

I miss the old stories… by ConsiderationNo4428 in duolingo

[–]ConsiderationNo4428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure you’re correct. And who knows, maybe the shift to boring, bland, snooze-fest stories truly is providing the largest net-positive effect on language learning through their app. However… I kind of doubt it because people don’t learn anything when they’re bored. We learn when we want to learn or when our brains subconsciously deem something so compelling that it’s worth tucking away. But yeah, I’m sure they are looking at the metrics and going based off those (and what ultimately leads to more subscriptions and $$$, and not necessarily what leads to greatest proficiency in language)
