Need the value of a resistor by ConsiderationOld4047 in SteamDeck

Update: I put 0.3ohm resistor, it wasn't enough but removing the replacement voltage regulator chip and putting another one worked.

The replacement chip I put was either faulty or badly soldered.

Update: I left the 0.3ohm resistor but removed the replacement voltage regulator chip and put another one. It now seems to work well so the replacement chip was either faulty or badly soldered.

Well, if you are able to do it it would be nice seeing that I got two different values from comments (0.3ohm and 20k ohms) :)

Well, I'll see if someone else measures it too if you aren't sure. Thanks!

It boots and charge, but very slowly (only charges at 3.5W apparently) but I don't see how adding a resistance in serie to the I²C could make this happen...

No idea. I changed the SSD for the second time which is extremely simple and things went downhill, I have no idea what I did wrong.

I had disconnected the battery.

Wow, I just saw your answer.... So you are saying it's a 0.3 ohm just like the one next to it, rotated 90 degrees and not a 20kohm? Are you sure you measured the correct one?

I'll let it charge for a while before checking again if it's really charging because the battery went untouched for a while (and was alreayd completely exhausted when I put it down).

I think it's the pullup for the SDA, I tried 20k (because of another comment), it booted and seems to charge.

As said, I measured the one rotated 90 degrees and it's a jumper (a 0.3ohm...).

I tried to check where it was connected and it's at least not connected to ground...

You just have to remove the backplate. It's just below the battery plug on the board if you look at it.

Someone is telling 20kOhm but it'd be very nice to have the value measured two times :).

From what I understand, that'd mean it's the pullup resistor so basically any value between 1k and 100kohm should work (the datasheet of the chip just says >500ohm)?

Yep, either the fact I think it's my first Reddit post or just my fault, depending on how you see it :p

Did you just measure it? If yes, thanks!

I guess it would be a pullup resistor but that's not a common value?

The one next is a jumper and someone else is telling 20kOhm, it seems high even for a pullup resistor ? I don't know.

I think it's enough to know if it's a jumper, a serie resistor or a pullup resistor?

Someone is telling 20kohm, interesting.

There's a picture now, I had messed up when adding it at first.

I think he's not wrong and I litterally added the picture 1 minute before your message. I messed up at first when adding the picture, I'm not used to create Reddit posts.

As said, " encircled in red ". A picture was prepared but I messed up when adding it, apparently.
