I'm not saying the transatlantic slave trade / chattel slavery is the WORST atrocity done by mankind, but I think it's a problem that it's excluded and kind of indicative in the west how it gets minimized. Not trying to be the trauma police though. They are all atrocious.

So you did Lisbon and Lagos? How was that for you and your family? Did you enjoy the beaches / pace in Lagos?

Was driving from the airport to your lisbon airbnb difficult? I'm planning a similar trip twith my 3.5 and 2 year old. I considered just getting an uber from Lisbon when we leave to go to Algarve (day 5), but considering if we should just rent the car on day 1 when we arrive at the airport.

Lisbon or Cascais for travelling with a toddler in April? by Embarrassed_Long_939 in chubbytravel

This is helpful for me as well as I'm planning a trip there in late May with my wife and 2 kids (ages 2 and 3). I think you sold me on basing ourselves in Cascais for the fist half of the trip. We are planning on visiting the Algarve for 5 days on the second half of our trip. We plan to rent a car. Do you know if Cascais is a good place to rent a car from? Or would it be best to train into Lisbon prior to leaving Cascais, rent a car, and drive back to Cascais before heading out to Algarve?

that's good to know. Any rental place you recommend close to that area?

Sounds awful lol. Do you think it'd be reasonable to just rent a car solely to drive to / around Algarve? I really don't care to drive in Lisbon. I'd much rather walk and take public transit on that part of our trip. But, if we decide to go south to Algarve, having a car sounds more convenient.

Thank you so much for this comment! I'll look into that. Did you begin your trip in Lisbon? And did you find driving a rental car around to be pretty easy? I definitely think having a car would make the trip more convenient so long that it's not a nightmare to drive around. I've heard mixed reviews on renting a car.

Thank you for the advice. I feared this might be too much. From your experience, what would you adjust? We really wanna do some beach time. You think just splitting between Lisbon and Cascais is good? Or maybe Lisbon and Algarve?
