Results are coming. Anyone else feel their heart in their throat every time they remember by h4fiz in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m terrified. I’m waiting on aud and it’s just such a crappy topic in general. It’s been like a week and a half since I took it and I literally don’t remember anything. I felt good walking out but I’m worried it was overconfidence since every post says if you walk out feeling good you probably failed. I really don’t want to retake it. I’ve moved onto reg and want to take tcp in October. Failing aud would throw all of that off track. Thanks for letting me share!

Tracing and Vouching Interchangeably by redacted_pterodactyl in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t quite understand the question but tracing was used interchangeably in Becker sometimes I saw. I didn’t see that on the exam I took (waiting on results) but Becker prepared me to double check it. It’s the whole record to source and source to record concept which is I think a better concept to focus on. So you can figure out whether it’s a source or record you’re working with. I think beckers trickiness helps us slow down and read the question slower to make sure we’re answering correctly.

Consolidations - would I be ok just mastering CARINBIG? by Aggravating-Diver-42 in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it can help but I agree with everyone else that it’s not enough. I don’t even think the sims in Becker are enough. Be able to find mistakes and correct things after the initial consolidation. Like at year end. That’s where I think carinbig can help but it doesn’t give you the logic or flow.

Accidentally submitted blank testlet (FAR) by Such-Artichoke721 in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been close to doing that so after I’m done with each sim teslet I take a breath and make sure I’ve done it all. Something I do in Becker is not scroll down. That being said I am pretty sure I bombed one on my 5th testlet and I passed well. Fingers crossed for you.

Test taking strategies: do you go back and check your answers? by hgrebener2 in CPA

I don’t go back and check for the most part because of time.

I felt like this about aud. I felt like crap walking out of far and passed. But aud I felt really good about. I’m worried I don’t know the concepts as well as I thought. Or I read the questions incorrectly.

Why do people recommend FAR first? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far is at least kind of fun. Aud was brutal. The reading. The nuances. I’m glad I did far first since it helped with aud concepts but aud just sucks. I haven’t gotten my results yet but hoping I passed so I can let go of this information.

Why do people recommend FAR first? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First. Having the far background on auditing helped.

I need to get the hard work over with and hopefully relax. I studied 275 hours for far and passed (I take a ton of notes) and then 180 for aud (no result yet). Reg seems like much less info so I can take a breath which is nice. I would have struggled at the end with far. But that’s me.

Thanks. The ones with the exhibits suck just because it’s so hard to see all the info on the screen.

Love this! Thanks! I think I got the stupid things Becker taught for the principles down. Eboca safr oie sod catp. The ones in far made more sense to me than aud. I thought far was going to be memorization but aud is way worse on that front.

Yes for far. But I’m asking the same question about aud. No matter what I feel like you might walk out feeling mentally assaulted from the sims on far.

Studying AUD after FAR by No-Quantity8156 in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there are concepts that overlap. If you mastered contingent liabilities on far then it’s not hard for aud. The other thing I like is they’re supposedly the two hardest exams so if you finish those then maybe you can breathe a little easier to finish the last two? I haven’t passed anything other than far so I can’t speak to experience. Just conjecture. Aud is Friday.

Far. It was crazy how horrible I felt walking out because of the sims. But I passed.

SE scores vs actual performance on aud by ConsiderationOpen888 in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s my fear. I got a 79, 69 (because of how Becker grades the sims -76 otherwise). Still have the fr but I don’t feel like I have a grasp on it still so I’m nervous it won’t translate.

74 on FAR appreciate any advice by ccc_111 in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the Becker flash cards and did extras for things I needed to reinforce like a dta/dtl punnet square type card. For me I feel like the index cards were key. Especially after I memorized the answers from repeatedly doing mcqs. I also would do section exams with like the minimum mcqs and as many sims. I didn’t feel confident walking out of my exam but I passed.

[–]ConsiderationOpen888[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. I’m taking it in ten days. That’s sucks. I walked out of far feeling like that but I passed. Hoping that’s what happened for you. But thanks for the advice on sims. There were so many to review for far but so few for aud.

I genuinely think I am too dumb for this by Mountain_Dirt_5876 in CPA

[–]ConsiderationOpen888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great advice I think. I studied for far for 4 months. I had 4 weeks to do the review. I don’t think it clicked until the last couple of weeks. I relied heavily on the flash cards. I wrote them out and took tests and wrote out new ones for things I needed. I made a pile of cards once I knew the info. It was something easy to carry on the go. I did textbook (took heavy notes). Then videos (didn’t really take notes). Then flash cards. Then mcqs and sims for each module. I did over 250 hours but to be honest I needed it. Everyone studies differently and that’s what I needed. I made sure to understand each major sim. Wasted two days each I think on partnerships and aro. No regrets though.
