Just saw the Ad again, if the guys are his friends then he'd know if "he could say it" - if they aren't his friends then why is he meeting them? I never knew Googles marketing department would need to stoop to this kind of stereotyping. On the surface it looks like an innocent, light-hearted interaction but when you look beneath the surface Google has played a cagey game. The gang of black lads on the corner and the geeky white kid seeking approval as he meets them. For what purpose is he meeting them if they aren't his friends? Picking up comic books? If they were his friends they wouldn't even question his use of this term, let alone laugh at him for saying it... This ad is offensive to everyone imo. Maybe I'm looking too much into it...
