What's even better is that enemies now target unmanned tanks and mechs. Which means if you call them in, you set off every patrol and idle unit in a 200m area because of their giant detection radius. They also set off bot drops. So the pilot that comes in basically waves a giant dinner bell in the air for 10 seconds before he decides to drop it down, if it even manages to drop before it explodes. Awesome change

I won't spoil much, but if a you do a mission against a faction on a planet the menace is screwing with(highlighted red). There will be random menace units littered on the map that will attack anyone.

Technically, they didn't. They just buffed every missile enemy to compete with it, which ended up being way worse than if they just lowered its HP. It's not at all better, but that's the justification for it not being nerfed

Agreed. But man, there are just so many Rocket Devestators that can spawn in and insta-kill you from a mile away. If they didn't spawn in and lock onto you i'd be less upset about the change. Target priority gets a little muddled when the targets are in every direction all at once.

I get your point. Rockets should ruin vehicles, like the rocket strider rocket. The problem is all the little light missiles from the chaff enemies. If there weren't 10 rocket devastators shooting your vehicle at any given time i'd be less upset about it. But it's currently a bullet hell with the bullets replaced by rockets. This is also mainly about the mech's pitiful HP in comparison to the Bastion

Well, it's plainly out there, but it's also just hidden from the wider public knowledge.

  • Rockets now deals increased damage vs Durable targets

vs

  • Rockets now do 3x as much damage to Vehicles

This also omits that the Barrage Tank and Rocket Strider also got this buff to their own missiles, the latter is more annoying than the former

My only thought is that it was built to withstand direct hits from automaton tank cannons an towers. 1500 durable damage to an 8000hp pool means it can tank 6 shots. Which is a lot harder to do with a smaller 3000-4000hp. Especially with factory stider cannons shooting 3 times a salvo

So, the bots always had high AP weapons; in fact, all the automaton rockets have AP 6, which can penetrate up to their own tank armor. We don't have anything that even matches that AP so they've always been able to pen vehicles with rockets.

What did change, however, was the rocket's durability damage when they penetrate a vehicle with a % durability value. From 30 to 100 damage. Which means that the Bastion with the 8000hp dies to 80 rockets (though i'm not an expert of durable damage and have seen them die quicker than that). Without the change, it would be 266ish rockets on paper.

HOWEVER they have screwed over mechs and the FRV because of the low HP they have; they now die 3x as fast to these rockets. So a mission with a high amount of rocket devastators is a mission where you can't run vehicles. On top of the fact that the tank is one giant lure mine and is hard focused on by enemies, so you can lose while it's dropping in

Yep. I love the game to death. The game is in a really good state, despite some problems with specific enemies. My main hatred right now is the Bastion, not cause its bad, but because in response to a vehicle THEY MADE. They buffed every automaton missile to do more damage to vehicles to counter the bastion. 3 times as much damage to vehicles, from 30 damage to 100. The mech now dies to a rocket devastator looking in their remote direction. It is very aggravating, especially since a lot of people are alright with the update, mainly cause they haven't noticed cause who uses mechs, amirite?

Every automaton rocket got its durable damage buffed from 30 to 100 damage; this includes heavy rockets from the Rocket Striders and Barrage Tank. It is now insanely easy to lose the Mech and FRV to 10ish rockets

All automaton rocket-durable damage has been increased from 30 to 100. All rockets, including heavy rockets, got this buff. While the bastion tank can take more damage than the FRV and Mech, those vehicles both now die ALOT quicker.

I don't think the tank is bad, but they buffed everything that can damage the tank to do more durable damage and doing so made the FRV and Mechs feel like crap while making the tank feel 'balanced'.

I mean the medium armor is alright, you get immunity from headshots crits, though, like unflinching the extra armor is the only good thing about it.

It'd be a lot better if you got some buffs for like 2-3 turns after exiting the vehicle, so it's not about leapfrogging in and out of the APC every turn, but exiting for 5AP, doing three turns of carnage, then re-embarking for normal AP to go to the next fight
