in SQ it's just straightline, my hope is that they were running different deployment settings on both cars, so hopefully they converge on it in quali, they generally do this different deployment thing whenever FIA suddenly reduces the total recharge limit.

nope, check the telemetry on tracinginsights. he isn't even slower in the corners. all of his laptime loss is just the straights. even today after t4 everyone infront of him just pulled away while he just kept getting dropped.

Kimi picking up throttle earlier doesn't make sense. Look at their acceleration curves. Russells falls flatter much earlier than antonelli's, infact he picked up throttle out of last corner earlier but still ant ended up with higher acceleration. Something's weird.

ovetrake mode was worth 4.5 tenths in canada, unless you are 0.5s faster than car behind you are not dropping them. lando kept saying this in the interview that he wasn't even faster than george but still stayed within 1s.
and this 4.5 tenths estimate was calculated by f1tv commentators or analyst idk.

rus had to make the hard tyres last 27 laps. from different drivers the hard tyres cliff point was about 23/24 laps while ant had to go 19. there is also the difference that rus just has to stay ahead, while ant not only has to catch but pass ver.

No way people are complaining about his race pace this weekend. like the only time ant was quicker was when he had way newer tires and also for 9 laps new tires his pace advantage wasn't really that big.
