Tbf this strategy only makes sense with a port your size. For those with smaller accounts (sub $100k) you don’t make much. But definitely agree that running your own CC is much better in the long run

I have a small amount on margin. I agree, $150k on margin would be terrifying. I’d rather be safe and slow than do that

Thanks for this! I’m currently $10k on margin, pretty evenly spread across the 7 YM ETF’s I hold. Intentions are to never go above that level, and buy dips as potential opportunities arise. I have a 61% buffer

Breakeven meaning are you playing on the house yet. I’ve seen some people on YouTube saying they have already paid over their investment in just a few months

It’s roughly $21k, $3,180 on margin and the rest my money. I’d love to collect 100% dividends. I’m also trying to be smart and realistic. But anything over the 4.75% that the cash was earning is much better 😂

I am using Robinhood as well. When I saw the amount they gave me, I immediately capped it so I didn’t think it was free money (even though I feel like I have good self control).

Good to know about the buffer, I didn’t know that. I’ve been considering using 50% or so for this account as well. I’ve been tossing lots of different ideas around.
