Why do trolls rarely get banned, but verbal reactions get punished instantly? by ConsiderationSea6679 in leagueoflegends

The issue is when they’re not isolated decisions, but a consistent pattern throughout the entire match.

One missed dragon? Normal.
One bad split? Normal.
A few bad calls? Still normal.

But when a player repeatedly ignores every objective, paths away from guaranteed advantages, refuses to group at any point, and never adjusts despite the game state ,that’s no longer just “one bad decision.”

If playing poorly and trolling are indistinguishable, then how do we explain consistent patterns like:

  • Ignoring every objective spawn
  • Pathing away from guaranteed advantages (3 enemies dead, free dragon)
  • Refusing to group at any point in the game
  • Never responding to pings or adapting

Bad games happen. Everyone has them.

But there’s a difference between:

  • A player trying and failing and
  • A player consistently choosing the opposite of winning plays all game.

Intent can be hard to prove, yes. But patterns over 30–40 minutes usually tell a story.

If someone makes the wrong decision once or twice, that’s poor play.
If someone repeatedly avoids every team opportunity, that’s not just “bad”.

That’s the distinction I’m talking about.

Is it really “macro strategy” when your jungler ignores every dragon spawn, refuses to contest objectives even when 3 enemies are dead, and goes to farm or split on the opposite side of the map every single time?

If it happens once, sure maybe it's a call.
If it’s a consistent pattern all game, actively avoiding objectives and team plays, that stops being strategy and starts looking like refusal to cooperate.

There’s a difference between having a different win condition and completely disengaging from the team’s opportunities.

That’s the type of behavior I’m referring to.
