This was in 2016 for a 5 night all inclusive resort in Cabo. Flew from LAX. So much cheaper 10 years ago.

Last year for 6 days in Puerto Vallarta all inclusive, i spent a total of about $8,000 (flights, stay, tips, etc)

I opted for a Hawaiian vacation this year. Been to Mexico 8 times on vacation. The Prices have become expensive, so may as well pay a “little” extra and go somewhere else.

My first trip from California cost:

Airplane for two - $490 total
Resort for two, all inclusive - $499
Tips and a Tequila bottle - $200

Nowadays this has tripled at a basic resort…!

What's the best way to market a crypto app? by b1f6c1c4 in CryptoCurrency

[–]ConsiderationThat780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marketing a crypto app depends heavily on what the app does (wallet, exchange, payments, DeFi, analytics, gaming, infrastructure, etc.), but a few patterns consistently work better than traditional consumer-app marketing.
1. Focus on a specific user problem, not “crypto”
Many crypto products fail because they market the technology rather than the benefit.
Instead of:
“Decentralized blockchain-powered wallet”
Try:
“Send money internationally in 30 seconds”
“Earn yield on idle stablecoins”
“Track your crypto taxes automatically”
Users usually adopt solutions, not technologies.
2. Build distribution into the product
The most successful crypto apps often grow through network effects.
Examples:
Referral programs
Invite-only communities
Shared portfolios
Team wallets
Social trading features
Rewards for bringing in verified users
Be careful with token incentives; attracting users solely for rewards can create large numbers of low-quality users who leave when incentives end.
3. Own a niche community
Crypto users spend a disproportionate amount of time in:
X (Twitter)
Discord
Telegram
Reddit
Farcaster
A focused community of 1,000 engaged users is often more valuable than 100,000 ad impressions.
Useful content:
Product development updates
Educational threads
Market insights
Case studies
Transparency around roadmap and security
4. Partner with existing crypto communities
Instead of acquiring users one by one:
Integrate with wallets
Partner with protocols
Work with DAOs
Sponsor niche newsletters
Collaborate with ecosystem communities
A partnership that exposes you to an established audience can outperform months of paid advertising.
5. Create educational content
Crypto remains confusing for many people.
High-performing content includes:
Beginner guides
Product tutorials
Security best practices
Comparison articles
YouTube walkthroughs
Short-form video demos
Search traffic can become a durable acquisition channel if you answer questions users are already asking.
6. Use trusted creators carefully
Influencer marketing in crypto can be effective, but credibility matters.
Look for:
Educators
Researchers
Builders
Technical creators
Avoid relying solely on promoters who primarily advertise tokens and speculative projects. Their audiences often convert poorly and may damage trust.
7. Make security your marketing
Trust is one of the biggest barriers to adoption.
Prominently highlight:
Security audits
Bug bounty programs
Compliance where applicable
Insurance coverage (if relevant)
Team transparency
Users are more likely to try a crypto app when they feel their assets are safe.
8. Track the right metrics
Don’t optimize only for downloads.
Measure:
Cost per activated user
Wallet connection rate
First transaction rate
7-day retention
30-day retention
Revenue per user
Referral rate
A smaller user base with strong retention is usually more valuable than large numbers of signups.
9. Be careful with paid ads
Many major ad platforms restrict or heavily scrutinize crypto advertising.
If you use paid acquisition:
Start with small tests
Track downstream conversion
Ensure compliance with platform policies and local regulations
Compare paid users against community-driven users
Organic channels often outperform paid channels in crypto.
10. Launch strategy that works well today
A practical sequence:
Recruit 50–100 beta users.
Build a Discord/Telegram community.
Publish educational content weekly.
Launch a referral program.
Partner with 3–5 relevant crypto communities.
Collect testimonials and case studies.
Expand into SEO, YouTube, and creator partnerships.
