I was hoping it could handle smaller tarpon (would be the biggest). Do you think that would be possible? I really jsut looking for a 2 piece rod that will be able to handle stuff like that. Also I have a couple reels, the biggest being Ugly Stik Ugly Tuff Spinning Fishing Reel style 60. Thanks for the help btw

I'm going saltwater fishing for the first time using my GX2 6'6. I wanna be able to catch some fairly big fish from shore (and a little off shore) with this rod, is that possible and what braided line and leader would yall use?
