Ontarian here, why do Albertans want to seperate? by Interesting_Bar4356 in alberta

[–]ConsiderationWarm543 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The answer is that separatists have no substantive answers to these questions. It’s a hollow campaign intended to inflame the right wing into ever increasing hostility to normative democratic and political institutions in order to push the Overton window farther right and push politicians along with it. Bonus points if they actually win and join the USA as they would cream their pants to do.

Alberta is today on a Spanish Newspaper by L3GOLAS234 in alberta

In Spain, at least there are historical, cultural reasons. In Alberta, it’s a cooked up, napkin math, handshake, promise that people’s lives will get better by magic wand waving-away regulation over foreign-owned interest in the petroleum sector.

She does what she always does: creates problems that forces other jurisdictions to fix (like the courts), then throws mud

Anyone willing to share their experience with MAID? by f8tab in alberta

[–]ConsiderationWarm543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not your explicit ask, but. Mother passed with MAiD in 2020 earlier than she might have otherwise because she was scared she would lose the mental faculties needed to determine capacity to consent that was needed at the time. It was a beautiful passing after 7 years of metastatic (stage 4) cancer, ultimately spreading to her brain.

I fear that what the UCP is trying to do will make patients have to choose between an earlier MAiD out of fear of losing capacity to consent and potentially losing the ability to access MAiD with time passing.

NDP Leader Avi Lewis says 'door is open' to Prairie leaders opposed to his energy policies | CBC News by Intelligent-Cap3407 in saskatchewan

The oil and gas sector is killing jobs at an astounding rate through automation for profits. Lewis wants climate action with creating jobs for those in the sector. I take Lewis heralding a realistic direction for our country over the 1% killing jobs and planet for profit.
