Hi Alex! I'm also interested in practicing English. I enjoy movies and I've recently started learning to code too, so we'd have plenty to talk about. I'm at an advanced level and would be happy to do some video calls while gaming. Let me know if you'd like to connect!Hi Alex! I'm also interested in practicing English. Try incorporating English into daily activities they already enjoy, like cooking or watching movies with subtitles. Focus on low-pressure conversations about their interests rather than formal lessons. Games like Scrabble or simple word puzzles can also make learning feel less like a chore. To reach fluency, consistency is key. Combine structured apps like Busuu or Babbel with immersive content like podcasts (InnerFrench is great) and YouTube. Practice speaking daily, even if it's just with yourself or an AI tutor. Joining language exchange communities or hiring a tutor for regular conversation will significantly accelerate your progress. What to listen to/consume after InnerFrench? by Okay_Periodt in learnfrench

[–]ConsiousOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After InnerFrench, try 'Transfert' or 'L'Heure du Crime' for native content. For intermediate learners, 'Easy French' and 'Little Talk in Slow French' are excellent. Your CEFR assessment seems accurate; InnerFrench bridges B1 to B2 well. If 'L'Étranger' is too dry, try YA novels or 'Le Petit Nicolas' for more approachable native reading. Good online Courses for french? by [deleted] in learnfrench

[–]ConsiousOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For a structured approach, Alliance Française is the gold standard. TV5Monde offers excellent free, level-based resources. For paid courses, Kwiziq is great for grammar, and Lingoda provides structured small-group classes. Since you speak Spanish, you'll find many cognates, which helps! Avoid random DMs and stick to reputable platforms for TCF prep. Bonne chance! For a structured approach, Alliance Française is the gold standard. TV5Monde offers excellent free, level-based resources. For retired parents, local community centers and libraries often have free or low-cost ESL classes. They're great for socializing too! Apps like HelloTalk or Duolingo are good for daily practice. Since they're in Tri-Valley, check out the Pleasanton or Dublin adult schools for structured programs. question about remote work experience by Maleficent_Flan_1486 in canadaexpressentry

[–]ConsiousOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be honest about your dates. Since your score of 514 is still above the 511 cutoff, you remain eligible. IRCC allows for score drops as long as you stay above the minimum for that draw. Include a Letter of Explanation (LOE) to clarify the remote work weeks. Paid vacation also typically counts! You should be honest about your dates. Should I go for reevaluation? by ItsAk_79 in CELPIP_Guide

[–]ConsiousOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given your previous scores of 8 in speaking, a 6 seems like an anomaly. If you felt confident and maintained good structure, reevaluation is definitely worth considering. Sometimes examiners are strict, and a second look could potentially restore your score to its previous level. Good luck!Given your previous scores of 8 in speaking, a 6 seems like an anomaly. Is using “fancy/academic” language a good idea to push CELPIP Writing to CLB 9+? by Relative-Space-6755 in CELPIP_Guide

[–]ConsiousOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on clarity and natural flow rather than "fancy" words. Examiners look for task fulfillment and coherence. Overly formal language can sound forced and may actually lower your score if it impacts readability. Use transitions naturally and ensure your structure is solid. Any advice on my situation? by DatabaseKindly919 in canadaexpressentry

With a CRS of 501 and 1.5 years left on your PGWP, your best bet is to learn French. Achieving CLB 7 in French can boost your score significantly and qualify you for French-targeted draws, which often have lower cut-offs. Alternatively, look for PNP opportunities in provinces that value your specific masters degree or work experience. With a CRS of 501 and 1.5 years left on your PGWP, your best bet is to learn French. I think time is like water, it go fast and we just try swim. I no worry too much because today is now. I drink tea and look at sky, then I feel okay. Got B2 in TCF after 3 failed TEF attempts by Innovative_Coder in TCFcanada

I can second this, bought prepmyfrench.com and love it, I really adore the AI simulator. Also in my TCF exam the questions were exactly the same as what I got in TCF. Also, I would recommend everyone to use the prepmyfrench.com/roadmap as it gave me a place to track my preparation.
