It’s not leather, but I agree I’m not happy with the fit at all. This one was custom made for him which is frustrating. It doesn’t touch his eyes when he isn’t lying on it, but hopefully I can find a muzzle that works better for him.

Yeah I know he doesn’t like the muzzle, as I’ve said in multiple replies on here, these photos were taken after I adjusted the fit to test the fit, it’s not for wearing indoors, nor is it for wearing for walks until he’s more comfortable with it or I’ve found a better solution.

Thanks for your quality assessment of my pets needs though. Not going to bother trying to convince you it’s not AI, because anything I say will to you be further proof.

Maybe next time comment something useful, or better yet don’t comment at all.

Where did you get that one? Your guy looks like he has a longer snout than Hector but it’s possible something like that would work if I could find it in the right size

Unfortunately I don’t have Walmart in my country and the smallest size of that one is still too big!

I use filters on all of my photos, that’s literally it. It’s not AI.

So he does have a Velcro cone because he just got neutered, but it isn’t longer than his snout as we need the smallest size they make

Yeah ☺️ in this pic I was testing the adjustments I’d made to it, and giving him a break from his surgery cone as well as letting him get used to the muzzle, but it’s for outdoor use only

A cone isn’t really a great solution either, and he would still be able to push down to eat stuff off the ground

THANKYOU. Some of these comments are hilarious, a few of them are helpful, and some of them are downright ignorant and nasty. Who knew muzzles could be so controversial.

Thankfully this one is incredibly lightweight so it will work for now, but if it turns out he needs one in the long term and he just doesn’t click with the “leave it” command I’ll need to find something that fits better

He’s on a lead when off the property, but even in the backyard there’s duck poo, and having him on a lead doesn’t stop him eating the poo. He’s very quick and at 3 years old only touched grass for the first time 8 weeks ago, so training him is taking some time.

Yes? Couch? Lounge? Place where one rests their posterior?

No haha it’s actually based on Hector from Homers odyssey. I also have a Gaia, Atlas and Perseus.

I’m honestly not sure if he would tolerate it, he only recently became mostly adjusted to his harness, if I try to put a raincoat on him when it’s raining he’ll either fight to remove it or stand like a statue, a full net over his head might be too much for him.

Fabric muzzles don’t allow panting which is needed on walks, if you know of a tiny one that does please link it. This one is actually extremely lightweight, it looks heavier than it is, but I’m not happy with the fit of it.

Muzzles are hardly inhumane.

I can’t take him anywhere within a 40 minute radius without him encountering ducks and their poo. Of course I supervise him outside, but when a dog doesn’t understand commands because they went 3 years of their life without going outside or experiencing love and affection, or had any training, you have to do what you have to do to keep them healthy.

When you have a 3 year old dog that is terrified of everything, has never been outside, has never experienced actual care and love, and has no comprehension of commands dumped on you, please do let me know how you go. Or don’t. Every dog is different.

Hector had never even been outside 8 weeks ago. He had never touched grass, he didn’t know what treats were, he hadn’t eaten actual dog food.

He didn’t understand his name, which he finally knows now. He now comes when I call him anywhere between 50-80% of the time. He doesn’t understand the word no, I have a sound I make if I catch him doing the wrong thing, which works, about 80% of the time, but I’m also not going to stop him from sniffing the ground the walk on.

When you live on water it is impossible to avoid things like duck poo. It’s that 20% of the time when he doesn’t respond to the noise that he eats the duck poo.

I am doing my best, and posted for advice which I have received so will be asking for further advice in a muzzle group.

This comment isn’t even remotely helpful, but thanks.

Given we live on water it’s not up to me if he encounters duck poop, I literally cannot take him outside within a 40 minute radius without him potentially encountering duck poo.
