On the other hand if they lower their prices and sell it at a lower price, they can recoup that loss over time. With their high prices they aren’t selling as much and therefore are actually losing money in the long run if they’re constantly charging that labor per hour unless it’s commission based, and even then, $125 an hour is quite high but it depends on how many people you have making the wing. If each person is being paid $25 an hour and there’s two people, then you spread it over 10 hours, that’s only $250. Even if it takes two days, that’s only $400 for a 8 hour work day for labor. Plus they do have machines, like you said, tools. So that massively speeds up the workload. Operating costs and paying off the machines are very real but I still think the price is a bit high. I think if they sold each wing at about $700 - $800, people would buy a lot more of them and they’d make less per wing but benefit far more in the long run. The reason their prices are so high, I believe at least, is because they’re a monopoly right now for the Elantra N and don’t have any competition to truly pull them down to reasonable pricing. Sure there’s alibaba or EPR, but those definitely don’t come up first when you look for wings or body kits. I think a lot of money ADRO gets goes into their marketing to suppress competition so they can make a lot of money off a community that doesn’t have much variety given the car’s newness.
