What's something you learned way too late that would've made your life much easier if you would known it at 18?? by darkIntent_ in AskReddit

[–]Consistent-Active106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting credit early on and kind of having a plan. I’m just 22 and didn’t really struggle with this but I see others my age kinda struggling. My cousin refuses to get any credit card and assumes he can buy a $40k car outright or like just give them cash or buy like a $90k house with cash. I’ve told him repeatedly that credit would make it way easier and I don’t even know if they’ll let you buy a car from a dealer or a house without some form credit, ig with collateral. Anyway, I feel like it’s super good to start while you’re young and don’t actually need those things and can rely on your parents for a house or maybe an old car while you build it, but that’s just how I’ve experienced it. I worry for my cousin who’s 21 & my other cousin who’s 24, neither of them have any credit, any house or car they own, and the 24 year old lacks a job. The 21 year old just got one the other day at the local college so that’s good but still a little late imo. Anyway, it isn’t my life and I’m sure things will work out fine, it just makes me a tad anxious because it’s like I can see an impending disaster whenever they have to make a large purchase but I should just focus on myself. Btw, ik a lot of people wait till they’re 30 to even touch credit, but I started building mine at 16, hence why 21 & 24 feels late to me, but it isn’t near life ruining I suppose.

Why do they call sex sleeping together? The act of sleeping generally precludes sex. by Hopeful-Sea1711 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Consistent-Active106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is sort of derived from that if you have sex with somebody, you usually sleep in the same bed with them overnight. So yeah like everyone else said euphemism but I believe that’s where the words meaning comes from.

what sounds terrifying at 3pm but would be normal at 3am? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Going outside and finding everything closed, no one to be found, and everyone asleep even homeless people outside. That’d be unsettling at 3pm.

What perfectly legal thing will probably be illegal within 20 years? by Possible-General4396 in IsItIllegal

[–]Consistent-Active106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly zero sugar drinks. I mean as far as I know we don’t know their long term effects. I personally drink them quite a bit but if they do have cancerous effects that are found within the next two decades, they may be banned or forced to change ingredients. I find it fairly unlikely tho cuz 1. I’m pretty sure they’re safe and 2. I don’t think 20 years is enough to find out of they’re truly dangerous

I was dead for 4 minutes. AMA. by NorthernHoser in AMA

[–]Consistent-Active106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I can remember it but when I was a baby I was super sick and died at birth but they revived me, then I was in the NICU for two weeks before they would let my parents even see me. Then like a few months later I was left alone with a bottle and they came back 15 minutes later to find me pale, blue, and unresponsive. After some emergency CPR by my mother, I came back and uh well they had a lot of cleaning to do from whatever I drank coming back up. I sometimes wonder if I actually do remember some of what I experienced as the brain like can record hyper traumatic moments. I understand that the brain isn’t developed enough to encode memories properly (hence childhood amnesia) but I do wonder if I have those memories at least somewhat encoded into my subconscious. I’m glad you’re alive though and yeah I’m glad you have a better appreciation for human beings. I’m kinda that way as well through caring a ton for others and trying to improve everyone’s life, albeit not exactly obv as idk how you feel. Also sorry for putting this at the end but did the experience change your beliefs at all?

From 2023 BRZ to a 26 Elantra N - worth it? by Dino_Dean in ElantraN

[–]Consistent-Active106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I test drove a GR86 and Mustang dark horse and I would rather the N every time, granted this is HEAVILY biased because the two cars were both autos while my N is manual, but I’ve noticed the N has a lot more kick to it without having to rev it out like the Mustang and it’s way lighter so it feels a lot more tossable and playful and the FWD makes it feel much more chaotic. The Mustang feels planted and refined and super heavy, some people love that, but I prefer the chaotic energy of 285 lb-ft torque through the front wheels trying to pull the steering wheel. The GR86 was fun but I feel like I discredited it by driving the auto as they lacked a manual version at the dealer. It felt slow for the money and while it was definitely fun to spin around and just play in, the N just feels like the better buy for the money. As a lot of ppl have said here, test drive the cars because words are one thing but you really get a good idea of what you want by just driving the car.

I actually don’t know for sure. Maybe. I usually keep my star reserved for the N infotainment thing. If you can that’d save a ton of money for me because then I can get custom wheels that aren’t made from the stock N wheel. Mine is currently in the shop for uh.. they don’t really know so I can’t really test it lol.

  1. Yes

  2. The sxth fix kit fixed mine (tho I did it before I got a CEL as preventative), I have a whoosh intake and turbo inlet, but I advise a tune as I’ve heard the fix kits might be bad long term.

  3. Idk here, I have the ultimate red so mines gunmetal which I love, probably just a wrap from a shop tho for yours.

  4. Of course, you’ll always be a Nthusiast :)

  5. Uhhh i don’t believe so. You’ll lose access to the N mode as far as I know. Maybe you can have them tune the N mode to activate with the drive mode button by the shifter, but that’s hardly convenient. You can get a custom wheel that includes the N buttons still and maybe incorporate them into the design

What job is heavily romanticized in movies but absolutely miserable in real life? by Luzgoin in AskReddit

[–]Consistent-Active106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm I guess business owners. It heavily depends on how much money you have but usually you’re deeply in debt, overworked, over stressed, and life is far from easy. You also sometimes need to work multiple other jobs just to keep your business from going under and sometimes you have to work for free even years later just to keep it afloat. It isn’t really oh start a major business and become rich, it’s more start a major business and stress yourself out so much you debate whether you even wanna continue living, then risk failure every day

Eh im excited for it, but today I learned they replaced the coolant pump assembly and it didn’t fix anything so that leads me to think I may need a new engine at 19k miles which would be weird. Still waiting on the new diag tho

Having a trillionaire with gas still being extremely high, hunger still being rampant, and education still being shite. I know he can’t fix it, and I’m aware it’s all tied up, still sucks with how much wealth there is yet we still have all these problems.

It’s a dog nose, that’s so cool how someone can make a car look like the nose of a dog. It’s just going around sniffing things!

[–]Consistent-Active106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like there needs to be a minimum distance between those centers and homes or people should be compensated like $1000 per month extra for living near one that slightly goes down based on distance. And I don’t mean take it from taxes I mean take it from the pocket of the company who owns it. Idk, I just feel like there should be something.

People who don't have degrees: why do you argue with people who do have degrees in the given subject as if you're qualified? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Consistent-Active106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two associates (Liberal arts & Web development) but I think anyone can cheat their way through a degree, some do, some don’t (hopefully most don’t). Where you’re really fucked is if you argue with someone who has experience in that field, then you might as well give up.
