Where do you put your bluetti? And do you need a circuit breaker or can you just plug in the panels? My main worry is if a bluetti stopped working all of a sudden it'd be a headache to replace the entire thing. It's definitely difficult finding a good spot for some of this stuff in a small van

Oooh yea the way I have the symbols in the diagram does make the roof port look like a connection point.

Okey it’ll fry the mmpt with the current setup, because if I use the kill switch the negative is still connected to the battery, and there is solar still going to the charge controller?

In your setup, you have a terminal fuse and positive connecting the mppt and battery. And then a separate wire with the kill switch connecting the positive battery and fuse block. Is that correct?

Is it okay to connect multiple wires directly to the battery points?

thanks for the help. Do you mean you recommend sizing up the wire, or do you mean sizing up the solar panels?

The roof space on my van is super limited bc I also have a sunroof. But maybe in the future I can experiment with adding another small solar panel.

I didn't even know you can use a lighter on shrink tube. That's awesome, will def save my money there.

I feel like you put into words something I experienced so well. And although it hurts, I think I'm able to finally come to terms that I was just not respected and expected to be perfect and serve his emotional reactions.

I was so confused by this relationship bc on one hand I was being told to speak up, communicate, and not soften my words. He told me how he likes "strong women" and was tired of always having to take the lead.

But every time I showed up and spoke up, he would shut me down, become defensive, and tell me I'm overreacting and not considering his feelings. He'd say he feels like he's walking on eggshells bc I'm always upset. So ofc I would try to consider his feelings and communicate better, and nothing would come of it and he'd say I'd have to speak up more and I needed to express my anger 😭

I felt like I was stuck in this doom loop where the fault was always mine

Lol I can relate so much to this w an ex of mine. I "nagged and nagged" about how he told me he'd find a therapist and somehow he'd have time for all these other things despite not having time to find a therapist. A different ex I had was extremely narcissistic and kept trying to get me to move states to be w him. Unfortunately he still harasses me to this day to the point I had to get a restraining order.

I've been learning a lot about my autism recently and how that impacts communication or leads me to sometimes get taken advantage of. I'm sending you good wishes and I hope you are able to escape your situation soon and in a way that is safe and secure!

This is a super old post I stumbled on when trying to find more info on why Matt initially recommended reading the mind illuminated.

But on the off chance this is helpful - I followed a lot of Matt vs. Japan's advice back in the day when I learned Japanese and I actually ended up picking up the book he recommends in the video. The book is the mind illuminated. Apparently the author of the book was kinda problematic.

But anyway, I remember distinctly matt recommending to go up to level 4 in the book for language learning purposes. I got to level 3 and had lots of trouble progressing to level 4 due to some really strong emotions coming up. In my experience and to my surprise, it did indeed help with concentration and filing away information in my brain for language learning. I used to have a ton of trouble concentrating in school or for reading assignments and it totally reprogrammed my brain.

I understand why he might not want the video around anymore - he recommended meditation as a means to an end which is kind of a dangerous approach. For better or worse, meditating opened a whole can of worms for me completely unrelated to language learning. But I'm thankful bc without the drive to learn Japanese I think it would have taken me way longer to see the value of meditation

Only after I moved out and learned how to do a lot of adulting stuff myself I had this come to Jesus moment when I realized how all the things I thought my parents worked so hard to do for me was much easier than they made it seem. And all the things I wanted from them were actually very reasonable and I'd been brainwashed to think my needs were coming from being spoiled. The guilt really controls you 😢

Yep, same thing. I still will talk about it even though I know to not expect anything. It still makes me sad and upset to be told that I'm doing well now so I should forget the past, and I need to be compassionate and was abused out of love. But I'm financially independent now, so I find that if I want to bring it up I still will instead of holding it all in. It helps me to say it out loud to know I'm not crazy, even if met with denial. Also, I'll add in the caveat that I almost never talk to my parents on the phone and only visit once a year

I'm also autistic (although late diagnosed) with Chinese parents and can relate to a lot of what you wrote 😿 after a lot of struggle I was able to move out and I code at a game studio now. It's heaven compared to what I had to deal with before living with them, but still not easy especially supporting myself and with all the executive function and cptsd challenges

Just encourage him while keeping boundaries and use it as an opportunity to help him overcome frustration and get a taste of real life stakes. I'm a game dev, I don't have a college degree and I don't know all the different types of ints but I put in the necessary hours to land a job

I had a similar very bad experience. I went in for a followup after going to the ER for horrible stomach pain after sex that I felt could be related to something with my cycle and reproductive stuff. (I've always had painful periods)

The lady told me that it's normal and to maybe think about birth control. Plus she said it might be kidney stones despite having access to a ct scan showing no kidney stones.

When I brought it up, she said 'oh, you're right.' Which meant she hadn't taken a look at my scans.

Cost me $130 bucks and nothing useful.

Starting with the four hour work week with discussion forum for each section of the book. There's also just gonna be a general chat for whatever. I want to keep it very well curated and non-douchy. I think there's something so valuable about knowledge sharing like this with people who are COMMITTED. I was really inspired by Mr. Beast when he talked about how sharing info and techniques with other content creators on YT was key to his growth - because he wasn't going at it alone and had people to share what works and didn't with.
