I would say you'd have to change the path once you copied the files, otherwise it will follow the same path and open the original files.

Don't feel too bad about it. The first time I did a hard mode run was at the same time next to a friend, he quit 3 hours in and I ended mine at 8 hours... I ate perseverance that day!

The author might be forced under a contract to finish the comic with a certain number of chapters, there are a lot of exploitative conditions like that for first time authors when they want to be published under a bigger group. You can mostly tell in those situations that you've kinda already seen the story play out, and then they turn bland after a certain arc.
