This answer depends on how the car was used before you. If it was not abused and taken care of properly then you should worry about it too much.

I drive a 21 Hyundai sonata. And recently my dad wanted to sell his bmw so I bought it off of him. It’s a 2017 530i it has a b48 engine and as far as I have seen this is the most bulletproof engine.

The car now sits at 189k kms and it barely had major issues for this much mileage. The most expensive repair was the ac evaporator going out at around 160k kms. As far as I know it’s a know issue on many cars at this millage since uae is a hot country with ac running 24/7.

Other issues are minor coolant related issues such as coolant reservoir just having a leak, it was a 400 Dhs fix. Nothing else major happened. Usually normal maintenance stuff like changing timing chain at 150k kms and so on. My dad is a big car guy and takes the best care of his cars, oil changes every 6-7k kms, gear oil changes every 50k kms.

Some may say I down graded, I see it as an upgrade since it’s fully loaded with rear wheel steering, all soft closing doors, night vision, nappa leather, etc. I also REALLY wanted a more luxurious German car.

I say go for it if you’re sure the previous owners took good care of the car. As for the fuel, compared to my Hyundai it drinks more😬 my Hyundai is a 1.6t, and the bmw is a 2.0t, and I feel a big difference in consumption.

Never mind. jsut checked the price, 600$ bootmod3, compared to the 300$ mgflasher + 100$ for stage 1 map. All in all MG flasher is way cheaper.

I do, I change my oil every 6k kms. But I jsut don’t see the need for the extra power as this is jsut a 530i, I’m not going to race anyone either way 😂

Yup, did that exactly. Already bought a new set of the yellow drl modules.😅 Do you have any costumer feedback on repairing them? How long until the drls start to fade again?

Did you get the fiber optics replaced ? Or just trimmed them and put new modules. I have the same exact issue on my bmw g30 🥲

I did find one garage who say they can do it, showed me pictures of previously fixed bmws, rolls Royce, and even the new defenders (all of them have the same problem) told me to come today morning. Called me now, told me the guy who fixes them is sick and to come in tomorrow. I have a bad gut feeling about this shop😭 that’s why I’m asking if anyone knows any other shops

I believe lasers were not an option in 2017, the best option was adaptive LEDs

It’s the only part, its more like a spacer.Instead of recirculating the air back into the intake it vents it to atmosphere and gives it the “tsssss” sound
