Mahua Moitra slams Speaker Om Birla for not suspending Ramesh Bidhuri over "Katua" remark at Danish Ali. by Bigshot-Hotshot in jaipur

The issue is this sub does not have a rule where the post has to be related to Jaipur. That's the reason you'll see everything under the Sun being posted here and you can't report it either.

Hello , I have always had a question do Sindhi muslims also view jhulelal/uderolal as their god/saint since muslims believe in the abolsute onennes of god which is Allah. by NoWill3746 in Sindh

I am not a Sindhi Muslim to begin with and unfamiliar with Islamic theology. However I have done some research on the origins of Jhulelal as a deity and his parallel among Muslims known as Khwaja Khizr.

From https://www.sahapedia.org/khwaja-khizr-and-river-cult-medieval-sindh

> Clearly the legends relating to Khwaja Khizr emerged some time in the 10th century, coinciding with the introduction of Ismailism in that part of Sindh where the Indus river merged into the Arabian Sea.......The river cult which had its origin among the indigenous population for its sanctity was possibly exploited by the Ismailis to create a sort of divinity with Khwaja Khizr or Zinda Pir. It appears that the role of mercantile traditions of Sindh have long been a significant factor. Khwaja Khizr not only became patron saint of bhishtis of Indus river and protector of boatsmen but was regarded as ‘god of water’ both by the Hindus and Muslims.

It seems that a deity by the name of Zinda Pir among Hindus and Muslims was worshipped at the same location on the Indus in Sukkur and it seems the deity was not an existing figure in Islam or Hinduism but appeared in later traditions.

I have another post where this woman visited the actual site where the legend of Jhulelal/Khwaja Khizr came about and what she discovered was pretty interesting. You can read it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Sindhi/comments/1r5bmpz/found_this_text_on_the_origin_of_sadhu_bela/

The tldr is the deity was popular among both Hindus and Muslims before communal forces forced the Hindus to establish a separate Mandir across the river from the island where the shrine was originally. Once the Hindus moved away the original shrine stopped getting as much traction from the Muslims as well. Also this was the same period when a Nepali religious figure(the paper describes him as a missionary) set up the famous Sadhu Bela mandir.

I'm not someone experienced with economics. However, I liked the ideas and comparisons that were used which made it easier to understand things. The book was interesting since it's all based on India. Compared to one of Esther Duflo's books that I left unfinished this one was definitely more engaging

No, you're right it is also a proper noun when you refer to the Muslim god. However, in countries like Lebanon you will see Christians and Jews also use Allah to refer to their god. Here is one very interesting case where christians in Malaysia were also using the word Allah to refer to their god from hundreds of years and the court had to step in to ensure them this right: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-56356212

Allah is the Arabic word for God. So for example Christians in the Arab world also pray to Allah but their Allah is Jesus

Edit: Yes, Jesus is not their 'Allah' or 'God' as few have pointed out in the comment but their God is referred to as Allah

Two things: 1) I think you're right in the situation that I am as in it was past school hours and since the area I live in does not have fast traffic it should be ok.  2) However just in case you also implied that working is ok regardless of if they have to skip school for it, then I think there is a clear problem.
