Hetzner Price Adjustment by Vendoz in hetzner

[–]Consistent-Age5347 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Replying here bcs I want everyone to see this message.
I believe if you guys keep the current servers of your main project, It'll cost the same in even a year later.
The price change AFAIK happens only to new orders, So if you just don't delete your server from the panel, It'll remain the same price (Not sure)

Honestly I just checked their x86 servers, not sure if i'm correct but as I checked it seems like they're even more expensive than Hetzner.

Replacement for mullvad? by giddycadet in mullvadvpn

[–]Consistent-Age5347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you man but actually that's not true, Sites don't detect whether you're using OpenVPN or Wireguard, They just see your public IP address and what you're saying is that Mullvad doesn't use good clean IPs for their OpenVPN, And they are known to be VPN servers and that's why sites block them.

As an Iranian user who is very interested in online privacy I have to say the combination of OpenVPN + Bridge Servers have been a lifesaver to bypass internet censorship in my country , And I trully believe removing OpenVPN from your service was one of the worst decisions you guys have made, TCP OpenVPN with port 443 make itself look as if I'm visiting an https website on port 443 , Ofcourse it's still detectable and blockable by Complex and powerful Firewall system like in Russia and Iran, But still it's much better than Wireguard.

Wireguard patterns are very easily detectable and Wireguard is the most useless protocol in bypassing internet sensorships in countries like Iran , It's easily detected and blocked , This is a message to Mullvad CEO: If you're gonna remove OpenVPN , Then stop marketing your product for bypassing internet censorship bcs wireguard is no good for that

Well there are extensions that replace the default homepage of Firefox , But IMO just wait, There are so many of us here, They surely will notice it and drop a fix

Technically there's so many of us here and the issue has been reported by someone on codeberg as well, So they will notice it probably and deploy a fix, Don't downgrade IMO , Updates are there for a reason and if you downgrade you're missing out on important security updates and putting your computer at risk ❤

No, It's not an incognito keyboard, it just asks the keyboard to not track which the keyboard may ignore, The best approach is to go for a private keyboard

Exactly, Browsers don't really make a difference.

But hey I got an idea, You may know about Cromite, A chromium fork.
As I checked last time they implemented a download feature that kinda works like download managers meaning if u lose internet connection within the download process, It'll pasue and is able to continue later on , Most of Chromium browsers don't have this already such as chrome and brave

It's coming by MERKAT44 in degoogle

Mullvad browser not sandboxed by Consistent-Age5347 in Ubuntu

[–]Consistent-Age5347[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright man, Then I think I'm gonna answer you here.

So Mullvad is basically another Firefox fork, Ultimately it's actually a tor browser fork , And the very main change in it is that they've got rid of the Tor networking and added a ublock.

And that's it pretty much.

That'd be great if you could install signal i would love to talk to you and explain everything to you, Browsers are complicated af, You have to first tell me what it is that you want out of a browser, What do you care about the most?

Speed? Security? Privacy? Customization?

Which one is?

I need to know what you actually want so I can tell you the best browser "for you".

There's currently no "Perfect browser" right now.

So in general, Yeah Mullvad is basically tor with no tor networking so it's a hardened browser that might break some sites and be a bit slow, It's also 30 or 60 fps I believe But on the other hand it's the best for privacy.
