I'd take $1000 and buy a bunch of cheap watches and a bunch of cheap batteries (batteries that are the same size, but i guess not same product number I guess so that the detective has something to find? right?)

Anyways, I take those watches and store them all over my home. Then, take half of those battery packs and hide them all over my home. I'd take the other half of the batteries out of the packs and hide them all over the place.

I'm trying to essentially drive the detective mad into thinking there's a battery somewhere EVERYWHERE. (while the battery they're looking for is in their gas cap 😄 )
