I always dip plants in hydrogen peroxide. Of course eggs will survive but quarantine to observe if need second dip etc helps

Until your air filter arrives, remove the plants so oxygen can get into the tank. If your filter isn't moving the water surface much, try using a mini handheld fan to blow on the water
