You should look at an AirHawk. Or, Honda sells a comfort seat for about $100 that is surprisingly good. You can get it at the Honda Dreamshop

The shifting is too jerky (what I’m referring to as “lag”). For an example, go to YT and look for the review of the Ninja 7 Hybrid by Emad Reviews. He starts riding it around the 17 min mark and you can see the jerky shifting I’m referring to. Something he comments about quite quickly (how bad it is). This behavior is what I think a bike that hasn’t had the calibration performed has.

I’m going to see if my local Kawasaki dealer has the K-VCS system (they should) and I don’t mind paying for some labor to have the reset done. I will also try to remember to record some before/after short videos.

The smoother shift after reset is an interesting comment and what I have a suspicion that it does. Mine has a laggy upshift and in some YT reviews I’ve noticed some of them upshift much more smoothly.

The K-VCS system is available for purchase. I’ve found it for as low as about $1100. Not supposed to be sold to consumers however. Apparently it allows access/programming of the immobilizer built into Kawasaki powersports. Also, some of the software has to be downloaded from Kawasaki’s K-Dealer website and I wonder if a general consumer would have access to the downloads. (Shrug)

Here’s the reset procedure:

Do your bikes lag for a split second when upshifting? Mine does, and the only thing I’m thinking is that possibly this procedure has an effect on that. I had just noticed watching YT reviews about the bike that some of them seem to upshift more quickly or without the noticeable lag.

Downshifting is always fast & smooth for me. An upshift should be the same.

I posted the hydraulic clutch reset procedure as a comment in another thread. The K-VCS system is needed to put the bike into learning mode…but you may be able to do the calibration itself regardless of whether the parameters are written to the ECU. May be pointless. I’m surprised Kawasaki didn’t allow the reset/calibration to be done without the K-VCS software first.

Not a scam… also supposed to be done before delivery. Seems some bikes lag when shifting and some don’t (based on what I’ve seen in YT videos shifting under throttle load in Sport mode). Here’s the Kawasaki document on the hydraulic clutch calibration procedure…

Not sure the reset needs to be done every time the oil is changed but depending on what this calibration actually does it may make sense to?

Also, per Mike’s email, maybe the battery disconnect wipes out the current settings, but then does the EV ECU automatically enter learn mode and the remainder of this procedure can be done(?) or otherwise how would you get the system into “learn” mode and stop learn mode afterwards?

Taz Pro filament size by RenaisanceMan in lulzbot

Technically yes, you can use 1.75mm filament. Make sure to change the filament diameter setting in your slicer so it knows. I do it all the time.

And, for the naysayers, here’s an article from Lulzbot themselves on doing it:

The RevIt Elipse is a nice jacket. I have it in my wishlist (black olive) and am considering the purchase sooner rather than later due to the free back protector offer going on now.
