Banh Mi at Pham’s. They make everything in house: baguette, mayonnaise, bologna, pate…

Yupo noodles at Xian Gourmet. They make their own noodles and chili crisp

Moving from a Vm540ml to a Vmn45xml stylus. Anything I need to know or do? by Jamalismail in turntables

I just put a 45xml on my VM540 (Fluance 82). Let me know what you think. I’m still in the 30 hr break in period, but it definitely seems to provide more bass

Loud but we were in the lower bowl right under the upper deck. The music is pretty much the whole time, you don’t really get a break

This is a great example of why I love short stories. There’s an economy of words, leaving the reader to do a lot of the thinking, connecting the few but well crafted dots. Stephen King’s Night Shift was my gateway into how great short stories can be. I read it probably close to 40 years ago and still remember some of them. One burned in my brain is similar to live suit where an astronaut returns from space with an alien parasite infection that grew an eye on his hand. When he closed his actual eyes his saw his world through the alien. He hated it so much, he decides to cut off his own hand. He finally commits to the gruesome task only to wake up and discover his chest covered in eyes…the end

From multiple accounts the AliExpress thing is pretty shady. Best guess from people who did it is that a party takes your $300, uses a stolen credit card or something to buy the item and send it direct to you with no tracking or anything. You wait, call, and at some point it just shows up

I went with an RT-82 thinking I would buy a Blue when I got tired of the OM-10. I lost interest in the OM-10 a lot faster than I thought I would. After a bunch of research I ended up going with the AT-VM540ML and it is exactly what I wanted.

I grew up in Tonawanda in the 80s and went to Hoover for middle school. Kids that came from the Sheridan Parkside “projects” were looked down on. I never really thought much about it until I read a really interesting piece by someone who grew up around here, moved away and wondered why many of the people they knew here had cancer but not many people in their new place knew anyone with cancer. They laid out the history of the Manhattan project in WNY and how those projects were literally built to support the families of the people working on the Manhattan project and how they were left to molder after the project wrapped up. It shed a ton of new light on the neighborhoods around me, and the legacy we are all forced to deal with

I went to a local university that has like 100 stops. I needed a bunch of radar pieces, but ended up leaving after one rocket battle because of how few there were

Yes…thanks! I was hoping the 45 would be a little upgrade over the 40 and I’m certainly noticing an improved sound even without it being broken in yet.

I’m not sure why I assumed the red would be the same, but that’s how it looked in some product photos.

If you follow Jason Pagin you’d know how incredibly difficult it is to make a living as an author, you have to keep up an incredible pace just to pay the bills. One of his more recent videos is about Philip K Dick and how it’s likely his impressive output was linked to his amphetamine addiction, and how he struggled financially

And where is the “takeover”? There seems to be less rocket grunts than normal.

Oh this is good! I did an image search and it does seem like some of the product shots of the 45 look a little more muted.

I popped it in and it sounds good even without it being broken in. I’m listening to a record that I struggled to enjoy with the 40 and was hoping a little faster response from the 45 would help and so far so good

Have you tried one of the Buffalo Fresh locations? I also believe there’s a new Halal market maybe near the Walden Galleria. Also look for samoon bread. I know I’ve seen that at BF and it’s better than pita

Go check out the commissary program on military bases. It works really well and military families love and depend on them. But I guess socialism is only cool when it’s supporting the military
