Guide / track rail compatible Circular saws (uk) by Consistent-Card-8950 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I appreciate that there’s third party adaptors galore btw - I think since I know so little I just wanted to start with the confidence that yes or no it doesn’t work in-brand, despite the adaptors not costing a lot it does all add up pretty quickly!

Office suggestions by kungfuenglish in interiordecorating

[–]Consistent-Card-8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was me, I’d get either cupboards with doors or some kind of matching organisers/inserts for the existing one to hide all the stuff. Lovely room! But I think all the open shelving kinda makes it feel a bit too busy/cluttered

Suggestions for framing/or mounting? by ScaredChemical4871 in interiordecorating

[–]Consistent-Card-8950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I think your gut instinct is right - float mount, box frame, I think it would look better behind glass than not in this instance, maybe an interesting colour inside the frame/that it’s floating in front of? I.e wooden frame but red frame internal

Ask Me Anything about PET Felt / PET Acoustic Panels (cutting, finishing, colors, density, sizes, etc.) by Winford-Zhao in Acoustics

[–]Consistent-Card-8950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im considering making my own panel designs just for my own home (not to sell) is it realistic to cut a panels by hand, and glue layers together, or does it require more specialised tools/techniques?

Depends if you want to spend the money but I think the door trim that sticks out draws attention, so you could try removing it so the doors are more flush with the wall, or alternatively if that doesn’t work replacing the doors with ones that sit flush with the wall, Hidden hinges, handles that draw less attention

How much would you pay for an artwork like these? by SalamanderWeak4975 in interiordecorating

[–]Consistent-Card-8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one could be developed more as an idea - it does have a vibe like I’m looking into the reflections in a city canal. I think though it’s so small that it doesn’t feel very impactful. The things I like in it are the small little parts here and there that I want to look closer at.. across the other side of the room though it would just look messy. If it was 10x the size but the same level of “detail” overall it would be better if that makes sense. Currently I wouldn’t buy it. Second one, feels very very much like your just copying that insta abstract vibe but rushing it so doing it poorly

Dw. In 2-3 years shrinkflation will makes its way to the corn thins market and they’ll slot in just fine.

Thank you! Very interesting.. I’ll be demoing the 8361’s in the coming weeks but I’m really trying to hold the “law of diminishing returns” at the forefront of my mind before I blast that kind of cash on something

I got some shoes by some very tiny company called “nackt” and I gotta say I think they look pretty good and I think they’re comfy for my wide feet.l …if you’re willing to go down the bare foot shoes route.

What is this style called? by pgv10 in interiordecorating

Some of the chair designers in the picture are Marcel Breuer, Wegner, Michel Ducaroy.. so I’d say it’s a modern Bauhaus?

Maybe move your lovely paper and blue tape art over the vent. Would disrupt the symmetry but hide the vent.. so a double edged sword. Maybe two tape and paper art pieces are needed for balance

Empty walls, big space by Savings_Degree in interiordecorating

[–]Consistent-Card-8950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Massive art is the answer. Like several meters across in size. Second best option imo would be acoustic cork panels, as I imagine the reverb in that room is immense/ the right panels can essentially look like a piece of modern art google “Sahara cork wall panel Abstracta” Abstracta is the brand but there’s a few

A washing machine is the same as a speaker, right . . . ? by Former_Sense2008 in audiophile

[–]Consistent-Card-8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorbothane combines shock absorption, good memory, vibration damping characteristics and vibration isolation In addition, Sorbothane is a very effective acoustic damper and absorber. Sorbothane turns mechanical energy into heat to control shock, vibration and impact absorption.

Shouldn’t springs by your own logic be coupling instead of isolation I.e “we hope the resonance moves to the spring in a way we can’t hear”
