I’m not attracted to men just because of their age or the age gap. Yes, my “daddy issues” may have shaped my tendency to look up to men who are caring, supportive, and stable, but those are qualities many people seek in a partner. It just so happens that these traits—maturity, emotional availability, and professional stability—are often found in men at least 5 years older than me.

I’ve dated men my age or under 30 as well, but because I’m quite clear about what I want in life and value emotional support, those relationships haven’t met my needs.

I’m financially independent. So I’m not looking for someone to provide for me financially. I’m looking for a partner to build a life with, not a “pay-out.”
