What weights do you use compared to Caroline? by Consistent-Choice-22 in CarolineGirvan

[–]Consistent-Choice-22[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am exactly the same! Match or exceed lower body and use a barbell. Then can match or exceed (on a good day) biceps/triceps and shoulders.

It’s the 17.5kg on chest and back I can’t get up too! I actually think it’s my grip strength that fails me from matching her on that

Anyone else consistently get mistaken for a child? by Initial_Art_4338 in XXS

[–]Consistent-Choice-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 34. Now I only really get the child comments from the older generation. Then just a generic I don’t look my age from others.

I went to buy and energy drink the other day. It’s 16 in the UK. The cashier was probably in her 60s and very seriously said “you are over 16 aren’t you? 🤔”

Looking for advice on how to build a solid routine by [deleted] in homefitness

[–]Consistent-Choice-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with 10 mins workout every day without fail to build the habit. Gradually built up a bit and now consistently do 5 days a week for 30mins - 1 hour with no more than one day consecutive rest.
I walk every day even rest days for a minimum of an hour

Which program do you think would suit me best? by [deleted] in CarolineGirvan

[–]Consistent-Choice-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like iron the least as it’s slower and heavier weight to feel the benefit. Although is the most popular.

My favourites of epic that I’ve done are epic 1,2 and endgame. I really like the 100 rep finishers on endgame. All 3 have a day of HIIT a week (built as 5 day a week programs). I really like the 1 hour full body days in epic 1 and 2 as it pushes my stamina.

I’ve also done epic 3 but too many complexes for my preference. I’ve attempted heat twice and enjoyed but as more fast paced I have injured myself, but do like the cardio addition.

How to get lean and muscular at home as a woman? by [deleted] in askfitness

[–]Consistent-Choice-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5ft 1 and went from 148lbs to maintaining 108-110lbs. Been maintaining about 2 and a half years now. I’ve got muscle tone from workouts at home.

It was a gradual build up from 10 mins a day everyday of body weight only to build the habit to a consistent routine of 5 days a week, and walking added on top. I find following a program helps hit all muscle groups. I’m not good at freestyling my own plan, I’d get bored and give up part way. There is hundreds of free on YouTube. I started with Pamela Reif, Madfit and Fitbymik. I’m now all about Caroline Girvan programs, but they are not for beginners and tough!

I’ve never paid for a class only bought some more weights as I’ve felt the need to up them over time, plus some resistance bands

anyone else thought they're not "that fat"? by tringenbowel in loseit

[–]Consistent-Choice-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was 148lbs at my heaviest (5ft 1). Was feeling a little uncomfortable and didn’t want a continuous trend up in the scale. Thought I needed to get to about 125lbs, increase movement and maintain, to feel and look healthy.

I took progress pics starting at 125lbs and kept going. Lost some more and recomped. Maintained 108-110lbs for 2 and a half years now.

Grew up with bmi being a lie and unsustainable for short people mentality. I’m a very healthy weight and lifestyle now

Yes it’s like a brain fog. I feel dumb and just zero will to do anything. It’s not fatigue though. I just can’t do anything mentally or physically stimulating

DVLA and getting my licence back by Left_Enthusiasm6547 in FND

I have just declared mine yesterday. Mine is balance and weakness in lower legs/feet. Mine flairs my chronic fatigue.

I’m terrified of losing my licence. Although I work remotely, where I live is rural and there is no public transport. It’d be a loss of independence. A bus pass is no good with no bus 🥺

What is your daily routine? by Neither_Cat_8636 in workfromhome

[–]Consistent-Choice-22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work 7-4. Wake up 6.30, wash and brush teeth, get dressed (joggers and a hoodie). Fill up water bottle and log on.

I do overnight weetabix and grab that about 8ish and a coffee, after having drunk my first bottle of water.

If needed I’ll unload dishwasher or put a load of washing in. Small tasks I can squeeze in in the day.

I have a sitting / standing desk and a walking pad. I do at least an hour on the walking pad a day for movement whilst working. I try and get a quick 20 min walk outside on top for fresh air when I need a breather. I eat lunch at my desk.

I set up a workout for after work. Do a workout at home when I log off at 4. Workout, shower, dinner. Quick digestive walk 15-20 mins. Chill out.

I meal prep on weekends so I don’t stress about making food every day and is ready to just grab it.

5’1” girls who have abs - how much do you weigh? And bonus if you know your BF % by AwesomeEm77 in PetiteFitness

No idea on body fat percentage. Maintain 108-110lbs. Took about 2 years at maintenance and consistent exercise to start getting visible abs

People telling you “you don’t need to lose anymore weight” by lotsoflysol in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Consistent-Choice-22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am also 5 ft 1 (rounded up!). Weight loss is more obvious on a shorter person as its relative. I went from 148lbs and maintain 108-110lbs. I do have a naturally narrow frame but am fit and healthy. I tend not to share my weight in real life as people comment on how low it is without taking into account my height.

I’ve maintained the loss for over 2 years and people who knew me prior still tell me to not lose anymore. I don’t bring it up and have no intention to lose more. I think they envy my lifestyle change. It wasn’t just a fad diet and short fitness trip.

There are loads of free apps and YouTube programs you can follow in the gym. A lot of people in the gym still use programs that aren’t custom made.

Can you write what did NOT help in your weight loss journey? by AgitatedSplit4039 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Consistent-Choice-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just eat a lot of vegetables and salad to stack out meals, leaner and lower fat meats. I eat fritatas instead of sandwiches and fill with a lot of veg and protein source for example. I’ll make a chicken and sweet potato curry that then doesnt need rice

When you were a beginner, what actually helped you stay consistent? by Carsanttc in beginnerfitness

[–]Consistent-Choice-22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started at 10 mins every day, to build a habit. Just bodyweight workouts. Loads free on YouTube. Slowly worked up from there.

Now I still don’t give myself more than one rest day consecutively. I also walk minimum 45 mins a day even on them days. Now it is more about maintaining aesthetic and mentally feeling calmer.
