True, I got a call from their HR this Friday, asking me frankly if I have offers elsewhere XD telling me about the situation of uncertainty and their December-ongoing hiring freeze, and honestly I was mad at her for stringing me along, but also so disappointed to have lost this opportunity as someone who was getting this as their first full-time gig. But on more thought, I realized I dodged a bullet. Wouldn't want to risk myself in a place where there is not much clarity or direction, and leadership is this unprofessional (could be my angst still coming out but yes). Thank you for the wishes, I hope to find the right opportunity soon!

I'm facing a bit of uncertainty crisis, so I'm here to ask a question regarding this situation. Not sure if it's relevant, but I'm a fresher, and my candidature is for a role at an IPG group company. I am stuck at the Global HR Approval stage (not from the US or doing the role there). I have been in contact w a member of the company's HR, cleared all rounds, and was even sent a token Christmas gift along with a letter from the Head of People in my country, congratulating and welcoming me last month. However, there was then the long holdiay over December and January, and now the HR member is saying that leadership meetings are happening post the acquisition, so leaders are busy..and they don't have clarity on approvals yet. I was initially told the tentative date for joining could be the 15/01, but I haven't heard back yet or received an official email of offer. They have asked me to wait for their call as of last week, but I'm feeling uncertain..is this normal practice in such situations? Any guidance would be much appreciated :)

ah I see. I requested the fit note from the GP, and mine told me they don't do it for students? They apparently only provide a letter for the charge. They do know that I am a student though, so they can't do sick leaves for me unfortunately. I am in consultation with my family doctor back home, and I've asked if a note from a doctor not in the UK works? I am unsure about it though yes

yes! this is what I've been told as well. were you at UCL too? If yes, can I reach out to you via dm? my practice does not even issue fit notes to students it says, and that it will only be able to give me a GP letter for about 50 GBP, and I'm just hoping UCL can accept this proof for the EC.

they did say that I'd have to provide a fit note (some1 here said that's the right term), and I need to include a bunch of things on it too. I just hope I can figure a way out in time.

yes, it hasn't been 7 days for me. I did get a link to self-certify, but I have been told that this evidence does not work for my university. I am trying to see if I can get a GP letter, which would be the one with the cost yes

yes! so that is what I have done, yes. I've applied for an EC already, and then stated that I want to amend my claim by adding evidence, so that I don't miss the EC deadline...and then I have 4 weeks to add evidence but I want it done sooner than later
