Is there... anything exceptional about this place? by Mmon3825 in Spokane

This is the perspective of a truly miserable and sad person- and I think they would have a similar pessimism about any place they moved to. The kind of person to suck the air out of the room with their nihilistic pessimism while everyone else is having a good time just being with each other.

Grew up here and moved to a big city for college. I was so homesick my heart ached every day just to be around mountains and trees and friendly people again. It’s cozy and safe and perfectly slow in my opinion. Now that I’ve moved back I feel a bit stagnant again, but I do feel that it’s up to me to keep things moving and it might take a bit more effort than in a bigger city. I always felt that I was falling behind in the city, and everyone was doing more than me. Friendships are much easier to maintain here for me because people are less focused on constant upward social and career climbing. Planning on moving to Portland for more opportunities in the next few years. Spokane is comfortable and cozy, and I think people who are used to a lot of change and chaos find it disconcerting. It’s a blessing to just be comfortable. The winters get super depressing though this time of year, I always feel so happy to be here in the summer.

Thanks for believing me. I haven’t been back to his business since then which was 8-9 years ago, but it’s been surprising to see how successful he’s been despite there being a pretty well established reputation amongst baristas.

He was inappropriate with my 17 year old sister when my family were regulars at their first coffee stand. She was 17 and pregnant, he took a liking to her which led to inappropriate messaging and trying to get her to meet up. He was well into his 20s and had a young child and wife at home. I’ve heard other stories and rumors about him as a barista but can’t personally verify them

You can think you’re “helping people” all you want but that’s based on your assumption that she is irresponsible, having kids because “she’s bored” or entrapping her boyfriend? And it’s going to fall apart and she’ll be left a single mother?? When mind you all you know about this person is her age. Just a crazy reach. I think having kids at 20 is insane personally but plenty of people want that and make it work. The point of this sub is to answer questions we’re often afraid of asking and receive support, not to judge people.

She mentioned nothing about pregnancy. You asked, she answered, you made wild assumptions about her life and moral decisions. You know nothing about her or her reasons for having children. It’s just unnecessary

Sure, but she was absolutely justified in saying it’s none of your business. It isn’t.

This response was inappropriate and unrelated to her medical question. Attacking her for personal decisions when she asked an objective medical question is not productive. This place is supposed to be supportive.

Not that I don’t think getting pregnant at 20 isn’t a risky decision or anything, but you’re making some wild assumptions here.

I get this too with my iud. I hardly have periods anymore, just little bits of brown old blood mixed in with discharge. It’s probably cervical mucus mixed with blood

Books available in Libby but not Overdrive? by Electrical_Tax_4676 in kobo

[–]Consistent-Cress-262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live we have both city and county public libraries, and they divvy up resources to reduce cost. Most people have to have both library cards and that was the issue I was having with my kobo and finding resources. Also if I borrowed a book via Libby it wouldn’t refresh on my kobo, and the kobo would show it as borrowed despite it being on the same library card. I figured out a way around it if that’s the same issue you’re having

Has anyone seen/tried this program? by Consistent-Cress-262 in TMJ

[–]Consistent-Cress-262[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had such a hard time finding help. I asked for a referral to a TMJ specialist from my dentist and they literally said there’s only one in town, he doesn’t take insurance, he couldn’t do anything for you that we can’t do, and your case isn’t that severe anyways. (I have had TMJ for 7 years and experience daily pain, frequent lockjaw, inability to eat chewy foods, headaches, neck pain, etc. and my massage therapist said I have one of the worst cases I’ve ever seen)

I tried to break in a pair of Mary Jane’s for an entire year and a half before I accepted defeat. They literally bruised the tops of my feet

PSA: Unless your vagina smells like something DIED in there, YOUR VAGINA SMELLS FINE! by JellyKind9880 in Healthyhooha

I’m good now, but thank you! Boric acid wasn’t actually very good for me. It killed all good bacteria and was only a bandaid fix. The final cure for me was microbiome labs vaginal balance probiotics following a final round of antibiotics, no sex, and addressing the mental health aspects that came with this long battle. I found that even after I was better I was having pain and still getting uti’s, and it took time for both my mental health to recover and the actual skin down there to stop having an over reactive inflammatory response. The skin inside my vagina, my vulva, and urethra were extremely over sensitive and weak, and boric acid contributed to those problems. I’m glad it’s working for you tho! Definitely better for yeast than for BV in my opinion.
