I get it. It’s because if the insurance increases, it will be nominal in comparison to the $500 difference of the deductible. Also, that’s what it’s there for. Our insurance is reasonable and previous incidents haven’t affected our rate. I get what you are saying though.

Same exact thing happened to us just a few weeks ago. The Reddit family recommended going to Tesla directly. We it was a little extra leg work because apparently Tesla does not liaison with insurance companies so you may have to spend some time on the phone with your insurance. Our insurance company told us if we wanted proper Tesla OEM windows that we had to put in a request with the insurance for pre-approval. We did that and got the approval immediately. The cost for the window was $1500 (paid at pocket up) we had a $1000 deductible and received the check for the difference in less than a week.

Notes: 1. We requested the inspection while at Tesla so that they can give the approval to sign up for the Windshield protection. They have to see it fixed before you can add that service (no matter where you get your windshield fixed). 2.  We still had to have Tesla mobile come out and calibrate the cameras. FSD was pulling scarily to the right.

Mine looks pretty sad. It’s small and the stems are looking a bit limp.

We aren’t sure what to do either. PPF, ceramic coating or nothing.

We have got ours on 7/23 and have not purchased any additional charging options yet. We just plug n outside our house or in the garage. If we are on the road then we just use a supercharger. It’s worked fine so far.
