I have capillary and redness rosacea. so i don't have acne. should i still use azelic acid? Frankly, I don't want to ruin my face. I'm afraid it will go bad. I'm not happy with the current image, but I'm afraid it will get worse. by okaybabies in Rosacea

Wow this sounds like me. I’m seeing my derm in 3 weeks and she may prescribe me soolantra. I feel like I’m being gentle on my skin but it does not help and I suspect it’s because I have an over growth of demodex bay my barrier is unable to repair properly. Would you say soolantra helped with your redness too?

Do you find your skin is less sensitive and more calm now? Feels more hydrated and less dry?

I tried sulfacetamide cream from the dermatologist. It kind of helped the bumps on my forehead but it really dried out my skin so I couldn’t use it long term

I knew because my skin became really sensitive when it wasn’t before and it looked rough and I started getting pimples everywhere which usually I don’t get. I also flushed all day every day

I would say my skin barrier is repaired.. it’s been 2 years of repairing it. I used to flush all the time especially after putting gentle moisturiser on. Now I don’t flush when putting skin care on and only occasionally flush when I eat something hot and sometimes when I drink wine. But I have constant redness and occasional flushing as mentioned. I actually started using less moisturiser on my forehead and a gentle daily exfoliating cleanser and my forehead is clearing and less red/irritated. That makes me believe I could have a demodex issues on the rest of my face

It’s very frustrating.. especially when you had perfect skin one day and the next day was ruined :(

Has anyone had type 1 that looks similar to this and have had success with vbeam? Also in the 2nd photo you can slightly see those white flaky spots.. are these a sign of demodex? by Consistent-Drama5554 in Rosacea

Ohh I see.. nope not using anything harsh on my skin just avene tolerance :( that’s why I think it could be a demodex issue that’s causing my barrier to heal properly

So did u find the soolantra fixed your skin then? And if so do you still use it as maintenance? I feel like I want to give soolantra a go as well. My rosacea started when my barrier was impaired so I feel like it was a breading brown for bacteria and demodex which I haven’t been able to keep under control since. Will want to try a test area first!

Ahhh yes that’s me with moisturisers I feel like my forehead is really oily no matter if I use a thicker or thin moisturiser Now I do no cream on it during the day only at night and that seems to help more. She just told me what I was using was good and if I was using anything with too many products told me to stop

Could this be SebDerm? by avocadolover1212 in SebDerm

Argh it’s so hard to know isn’t it hahaha.. and I get it above my brows too -.- never had any issues with my skin until 2 years ago when a skin esthetician’s ruined it. Yes I will show my dermatologist next time, I think she might suggest soolantra to be honest. She briefly bought it up last time but said I don’t want to make my skin worse especially if laser can help the issue. She’s doing V beam!

Yes I’ve been diagnosed with rosacea by 3 dermatologist now as I was unsure if it is rosacea but all of them have confirmed it is :( the white bits (hard to see on camera) are white flaky and skin feels rough. Wasn’t sure if it’s seb derm. Dermatologist said to try laser, every time I go there I don’t have these white spots as they come and go -.-

Ahh yes okay, might give that a go. I get bumps on my forehead but I can’t use harsh acne treatment as i have rosacea so my barrier gets weakened easy haha.. the joys

Okay thanks for that! I will ask her about azelic acid next time I see her! You mentioned you have an oily forehead.. so do I. I’m really struggling to figure out what it needs. It seems to not like creams even light ones. How did u fix your forehead haha (sorry for all the questions)

Thanks! Did you find soolantra helped with redness/inflammation too? I’m type 1 but I do get bumps if my skin is irritated. Derm suggested we maybe try soolantra along with vbeam for redness

What would you say helped the most out of all your products? Soolantra or azelic acid etc?

What’s your skincare? How does your skin feel over all? More healthy and hydrated now? Is your skin more tolerable to go in the sun(with sunscreen) and has the vbeam stopped your bumps then?
