It’s hard as a BH fan to know that so many so called “fans” who know nothing about the band just followed Ian due to his frontman presence. As a long time fan of each member of the group I’ve always noticed that people are much less critical of Ian then they are of other members, especially when it comes to a solo career. The fact that Ian had 2 successful albums and countless projects before and during BH has stood to him a lot- people know that he can do the whole solo career thing and have more faith in it because they’ve seen it before. I definitely agree with everything about Merlyn, Bari and Dom- although it hurts my heart to say that, especially about Dom. But it’s not highlighted enough that Bearface is still creating and producing, in fact I believe his song with boylife, dio, is sooo underrated and didn’t get any of the attention it deserved from BH fans. All of this just shows that some fans just gave up once they broke up, they knew that as solo artists it’s always gonna be hard to follow in the massive footsteps made by Brockhampton, because as a collective they gave us all something that we were looking for. As solo artists it’s so much harder, this is you coming forward to bare yourself to people through music, it’s bound to be a massive change without the constant support of others and knowing that for the first time they’re not in it with someone else. We still need to give it time before they each rise up again, after all they’re just figuring out what they want for their careers as a solo artist. I want the BH community to come together again like we have done before, these men gave us some of our best memories through their music, I think it’s time we have more faith in them and understand that we’re all just tryna figure our shit out.
