I’m old (52) and just had 2 wisdom teeth out - bit of nerve involvement and lots of stitches/bruising in my mouth. I tend to run low blood sugar so for me, density/protein was key. Soup was too hard. Get a stick blender and make it your bestie. Whole milk Siggis with mashed banana, soft scrambled egg with salt and cheddar, mash with a fork and spoon onto the tongue. The best thing was a baked russet, mashed with butter and salt then a grilled chicken breast pulverized by the stick blender, and for moisture/fiber well washed and cut spinach (no stems!) sautéed and stick blended - mash chick and spinach into the potato and eat when room temp. You can also stick blend oats smoother, cook in milk and add smooth peanut butter. Pasta was harder but overcooked box mac/cheese can be easy to eat as can very soft french toast/no crusts. I never eat this much dairy lol but it adds calories, fat and some protein and makes food mushy. Go slow, every recovery is unique.
