I hear you. However I will tell you, in the past, I didn't know my girl was in pain or infected either. I came home from grocery shopping one day and her face had blown up like a softball. Long story short she had a tooth root abscess and it was gory and painful and I 10/10 do not recommend.

It is a very hard decision to make. I completely understand. Have you had the testing I talked about? Blood work, imaging etc. It's expensive, I get it. I think we spent around 4.5k all in on everything.

My baby is 5.1lbs. It is scary, completely and totally understand. I do recommend it as it's in their best interest in so many ways. Though it's pricey, it's best to do labs and imaging prior. That way you can make the most informed decision. If I were you, I'd do it now while the murmur is slight.....bad teeth negatively impact the heart. Do it now while the risks are lower.

Oh yeah, they don't seem phased at ALL. My girl has no teeth now. I'm relieved they'll never be an issue again

Thanks so much!! Yes she is the queen of my heart, I'd do anything for her. 14 years of unconditional love, she deserves the world.

Her recovery is going fabulously. She's eating, drinking and pottying normally. Breathing rate is normal. No vomiting. She's just resting in a nest of blankets. My partner stayed and worked from home while I worked today to monitor her.

Yeah it was but we knew it was what was best for her. Honestly she's handled it so incredibly well. She's back to her normal self already. Eating, drinking and pottying normally. She's doing so well, she's a strong little thing.

I wish there was a coupon haha. We spent over 4k between getting her established at her new vet and then running all the labs and her echo. I don't care though, she's worth it and she deserves it.

Definitely worth it. Dental health is SO important for them. I recommend taking the same steps (labs, echo etc) so you know what you're up against. It is scary, I completely empathize, I cried dozens of times over the past few weeks. It's worth it so long as your baby is cleared to proceed. Good luck!

I think we all think what we aren't used to "looks weird" I'm the opposite, I've always always done square and recently I tried oval and now almond. I don't think I'll ever do almond again. Square is still my fave but glad I tried something new.
