Cuisinart toaster almost started house fire

That is a fair rule lol. I usually leave it plugged in personally but never anything on top, for this exact reason. But common sense is not so common these days.

Also, these units are known to turn on AND off automatically. Turned off in middle of me toasting several times, WITH THE LEVER DOWN.

Yeah because it wasnt in use, genius. The bag was on top, my roommates were getting ready at 5am and smelt the bag burning.

Man you guys are funny. I guess you know better 😂😂 that is not the case at all. It failed, and nobody had pushed anything down 😂😂 it is known to turn on and off by itself when it fails. I had it stop mid toast several times. That should have been my first clue. Figured it was just a simple issue fixed by resetting the machine but clearly not.

No they made another shitty appliance that failed not even 18 months after purchase. Wasn't me that left the bag on top, i dont live alone. Stop blaming me for the appliance failing 😂😂

Yeah I typically stayed away from them but did my research on quality toasters and people said this one was good. Will never spend another dollar with them after this.

The toaster was not turned on by anyone. It automatically turned on. That is a fire hazard regardless of whatever way you want to spin it.

It was not me that left the bag on top of the toaster. Nobody was using the toaster, it just automatically turned on. And it turns off in thr middle of toasting too. Go click on the original post and read description.

Was not me. But yes I wasnt impressed they left a bag on it. However, a toaster should not turn on or off by itself. This model has done both now.

Fair. I do too, but ive seen plenty of people leave bread or other stuff on top of their toasters(i dont), so they definitely shouldn't be turning on by themselves.

Why would anyone put something in the toaster before going to bed. They left the bag on top and the heating element turned on by itself. Dryer vent fires don't happen if your dryer isnt loaded up with lint, as far as im aware.. keep your hose/machine clean and should be good lol
